The access logs and other server logs became SO LARGE they filled a partition on the server, causing the mysql server (on the same partition) to choke to death. After clearing room and tweaking the server to log files on a different partition, I was able to bring us back up. This should not be a problem ever again. This is one of those fluke things you just can't plan for or test when moving to a server.

Please resume your regularly schedule post whoring.
