Pitt struggles against Temple, and manages to win with 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Future member Cincinnati loses to 0-4 Army. Can somebody explain to me how they plan on keeping that BCS bid?!?

On a side note....Bowling Green can score points against the Sooners but #5 Texas can't?!?

Dang, I thought Temple was going to win that game and get BG some pts in the computer rankings.

Yeah, but how bad is Miami (OH)? Still, I'm wondering how anxious the BE is going to be to get a bowl game against the MAC.
Do you think if the BE losses its BCS bid there would be another conference to get it?

The BCS schools would just love to reduce their split by one member.

Not trying to flame here, but I think BG will pull out the West Division Crown. They are better than what they showed at NIU.

Only time will tell. Still, NIU did beat them, and until someone unseats Toledo they have to be the odds on favorite to win the West.
If Toledo can get a pass defense we will win the West. Our rush defense has really been good the last couple of games, but we can't stop the downfield passing.

Our offense is on fire again tonight. 453 yards of total offense and 45 points in the 1st half at WMU. Gradkowski is 19 of 21 passing for 252 yards, 2 TD's and no INT's.

And just for you BG fans, even the Comcast announcers have been surprised with Gradkowski's ability to throw the ball downfield in this game.

Check out who is the defending W Div champ.

:crying: You lost to NIU already and have to play in Toledo this year. Start thinking about next year. Even if you somehow find a way to beat Toledo, that probably means NIU went 8-0 in the MAC.

Well I'm sure BG is at least half as good as Kansas...that should be plenty.

But the game won't be played in Kansas, Toto.

rf,

This season is far from over and we aren't conceding anything. Look how close NIU came to losing at UCF.

ANd you guys still have to find a defense.

We found plenty of defense in Minnesota and Kansas, thankyouverymuch.
"If Toledo can get a pass defense we will win the West. Our rush defense has really been good the last couple of games, but we can't stop the downfield passing."

That's a pretty big IF there rf. :D

Ball State hung 41 on WMU...

"And just for you BG fans, even the Comcast announcers have been surprised with Gradkowski's ability to throw the ball downfield in this game."

I'm surprised as well. But WMU hasn't shown much in the way of trying to stop anyone recently.

And the announcers would be even more impressed with Omar Jacobs.
Omar's last two games? 52 of 68 for 754 yards, 8 td's and 1 int. Hmmm...you guys were right about him. He sure stunk it up in the spring game. Mind you he only played 2 1/2 quarters at Temple and Coach Brandon has only allowed him to use about 1/2 the playbook to this point. 04-bow Against CMU, he got his running game going with 75 yards on 11 carries. Oh, he is fun to watch.

And you get to see him thru 2006!
:D

Omarvelous!

I see the Rocket talking points have shifted away from the notion that all would be lost without Josh Harris. 03-lol

Or maybe not.

I'll bet Gregg Brandon is just licking his chops to see if Anthony Turner can bump Omar from the No. 1 spot on the depth chart.
Possibility there, SF. Hmmm... Jacobs and Turner. 04-rock 04-rock 04-rock 04-rock 04-rock
Damn, it's great to see the MAC continue to have great QBs even after losing a couple to the NFL.

National QB rankings:
#1 Bruce Gradkowski (Toledo) 189.6
#9 Omar Jacobs (BUGS) 159.5

And the ones that are in the NFL are doing pretty durned good as well.....

There are too many QB's in the history of the NFL that have come in as rookie's and played very well. Big Ben has stepped in nicely at Pittsburgh. He is 3-0 and he really looked good over the weekend.
