Chances do not look too great for NIU to get into top 25 even with a win. Southern Miss is idle, and Minnesota and Iowa play pathetic competition. I hope Ga Teach beats Va Tech tonight, that might catapult the Huskies past the #22 Hokies.

That's why we play the games though.

#2 Oklahoma at #20 Oklahoma State
#21 Arizona State at #8 Cal

...two more chances to move up.

do you really think so?

I would think those 2 games would have to be major blowouts to drop either of those teams from top 25, but then again I never would have guessed NIU would move up to 26 this week.

Sure...a loss is a loss in a lot of their eyes.

Plus, of couse we want Virginia Tech to lose but, I'd worry more about #30 Georgia Tech jumping the Huskies if they beat #22 Virginia Tech.
GT sucked it up tonight! They are just gonna move down! They choked!
If ASU and OSU both lost they are both out of the top 25, no way a team ranked anywhere from like 18-25 loses and stays in the top 25
Sorry,
Are you trying to jinx us on Saturday?

I have to reverse it now. Isn't Ball St undefeated at home versus teams trying to crack into the Top 25 ?

There, now I feel better :)

I think for Arizona State you are right turner4heis, but if OSU loses a close game to OU, I could see OSU clinging to a top 25 spot. I think it just depends on the score of the game.

Thanks for reversing the trend Lukalos, but who has BSU beaten at home that was trying to crack the top 25, or I guess undefeated also means you maybe havent played anyone, just that you havent lost :)
MaddDawgz,

Have you ever watched a football game and the announcers say that a kicker is "perfect" from this range, then he ends up hooking the kick? My friends call that the Manouch!

What I did was; what we like to call the Reverse-Manouch. I highly doubt it was factual, but it did the job with turning the Karma gods back in our favor.

I knew what you meant :)

I'm actually a little worried about BSU. It seems like a dangerous game to me.

I think you are going to see a different philosophy from NIU's defense this week, blitzing early and often. What I like about the defense/defensive play calling this year is that it seems very adaptable based on the opponent that week. I think the way you go after Ball State is to be very agressive.

We have a good team, if we can't beat BSU then we don't really deserve to go to a bowl or be ranked anyway. I'm not real concerned with this game, I will watch it and cheer but i assume we will win.

Lets just hope our players have a better attitude than i do towards this game. :)
Upset special: Oklahoma State over the Sooners tomorrow.
I am also worried about this game. This is where seasons can be ruined, but I don't think Joe N. will let it happen. I am actually thankful we went through the UCF struggle; the players got a taste of what can happen.

We will not lose to Ball St. We have come too far to blow our chances for a MAC title on Ball St.

Technically losing to ball state won't blow any chances. We can lose this game, and we still have to beat toledo and we will go to the MACC.
Let me rephrase.....we have come to far to put our chances in jeopardy against Ball St.

And I don't know about you, but I really want to have an undefeated MAC season.

Eh...I could care less as long as we get a bowl bid.
Willy,

Do you seriously just post to piss people off, losing to Ball St is no good at all, but you are correct it wouldnt kill our chances but god just let it go, i would love to see some post of yours that doesnt critique something that was said by someone else. Not to mention losing to them would kill any slim however slim chance it might be (especially after getting snubbed last year) if we lose to Toleo, which by the way wont happen.
Meanwhile

in that order too
Come on, I want the bowl bid, too, but you can't tell me that it wouldn't bother you if we wound up going 7-1 in the MAC, and that loss came to Ball St.

Especially after he makes comments about people saying ridiculous things....sure if we lose to BSU a bowl game would be great but still feel a little bit tainted. Seriously though talk about a dumb thing to say
