I think the bball concerns don't mix w/ the fball ones. Bball does alright on its own. Fball has yet to be "optimized" in terms of payout to certain teams.

This doesn't sound so far-fetched to me, although 64 bowl teams? And you're still going to have a Baylor or Kentucky that totally sucks. But, 4 teams from the new Div IA seems a bit low (especially disin the BE) so you could probably pull in 6-8 teams, and fill in the 56 bowl slots.

So, what's new? That's pretty much how it's done now.

The thing this would accomplish is driving a wedge into Div IA so that Div I-Prime could establish their playoff a few years farther down the road. That's where the money is, and doing it this way might allieviate anti-trust issues.
