What are his chances , has my vote right now ...
At this point I'd say the odds would be 90%.

Roy Williams is the only other contender that readily comes to mind.
When Maddox gets healthy , what does Cowher do ?

Hand the clipboard to him. Big Ben looks awesome he can't take him out of the game.

They trade him to Miami for an early draft pick
Ben is not coming out now. There are a lot of teams in the 1-10 draft slots kicking themselves now. SD and probably Arizona should be, at least.

I've had few doubts over the years that Ben was the real thing. After the amazing play action fake & pass early in 2nd half against BGSU last year, though, the doubters should have left the building. Any that remained need only look at his amazing performance against Marshall in the 40+ mph gusts the next week.

You don't see players like him often enough, that's for sure. 04-rock

SD is 5-3, and Brees is doing well enough.

They screwed up by not picking Gallery.

Even Ben would need protection, and a solid OL makes everything go better.
I always thought he was better than Manning and Rivers ...
I think any reasonable mac fan knew that Ben was the creme of the QB crop last year. But for some reason, some of these so-called "NFL Scouts" still don't get it.

As a Marshall fan, I knew I said a thank you, when he decided to leave for the NFL early. He is absolutely the best QB I have ever seen at picking up the blitz. If you blitz him........he will make you pay! .........and if you lay back & give him time.......he will make you pay!

The rest of the NFL is going to continue to find that out. With Pittsburgh's running game & defense, they are going to be hard to stop. The Eagles Game will "reveal" a lot this weekend.

By no means is he having a "rookie of the year" season but I believe Darius Watts is having a pretty good year in Denver. He has played in all seven games and started in one.He has 259 yards and 1 td.
Ben is the best looking rookie QB that I have ever seen. I can think of a scenario whereby he could be the MVP. Afterall, he is a QB. He is on a team that could go to the SBowl... Did Cleveland blow it or what. 03-banghead

Don't remind me, Butch would have drafted him had he went to the other Miami.

he is by far exceeding everyone's expectations and doing everything to take control of the team and lead them to victory. Albeit by your standards(he didn't go to Marshall) he isn't ROTY material, but by everyone elses he should get it. He truly is an awesome presence on the field. The only explanation for him possibly not having a rookie of the year season is if you say that he's having a seasoned veteran season in his first year.

Read my post again homer. I said by no means is he having a ROTY season BUT Darius Watts is having a good year.I didn't mention Big Ben in this particular post.
Um, Shrakkrocket the Herd fan was talking about Darrius Watts not Big Ben when he said "by no means is he having a rookie of the year season." Reread the post and you will see it has nothing to do with BR and everything to do with Watts.

I think it should also be noted that Babin from WMU looks to be having a good year for the Texans. I haven't seen many Texans games but he was really a force in beating Leftwich's Jags yesterday.

One rookie I am disappointed in is Turner. When LT went down I thought he would get the bulk of the carries but it seemed that a guy named Chatman got the carries in LT absence. Is Turner hurt or something? However, it is possible that the Chargers a very deep at RB considering that Chatman did fairly well in LT's place.
Getting off Big Ben for a bit, is anyone surprised about Gates? He is possibly having the best year for a TE in the NFL and he didn't play college football! Why wasn't this guy on the football field for Kent St?
He contemplated playing two sports, but ultimately decided that hoops was the best option.
He was right. He was a major player ont eh Elite 8 run and how much would a great tight end help our fb team, really?
