The East lot right outside of Huskie Stadium is the best lot I have tailgated in. Green grass, hundreds of cars and thousands of people make for a great atmosphere.

I think that like everything else, what makes a great tailgating spot is what appeals to you. Personally, I love my spot in Hannon Park behind Yager Stadium, in part because it's not a huge mob scene -- instead, it's a friendly, intimate setting under a canopy of trees, backing up to the gently flowing Talawanda. And it's still less than 200 yards from the stadium gates.

Besides, we get visits from these lovely ladies....

But back to my original point, I'm not saying my spot is necessarily better than any other spot...it's just that I prefer that kind of setting.
sorry...duplicate bad post.

I didn't know Miami fans tailgated before a Drag Queen burlesque show. Some of them do look passable :) Just teasing.
I'm a firm believer that the fine gravel of the lots outside of Perry Stadium is the perfect surface on which to tailgate.

Beer drinking and gravel don't mix.
For once, I agree with a herd fan...mark this day down! ;-)

Although, I think we would all admit, gravel is a sign of good landscaping in Bowling Green... ;-)

Nothing's more exciting than tailgating at Kent St. 04-rock

Just make sure the Kent PD dosn't see you enjoying any liquid refreshments.

One shot that's not exactly about tailgating, but I love the color and shadows:

And some tailgating shots:

this is a great post--anyone else have more pix of tailgating---id love to see them! :D
huskiemobileman, that must have been at least last year when NIU actually had sense to let people tailgate in the east side grass lots for $5. Now, it seems like 1/8th that size in the east side with everything else being at the convo 03-banghead
Here are some from the UCF scene...which I think has some of the best tailgating anywhere! :D

yea those niu tailgate pics look like fun--ut kinda changes our tailgate scene around for the students and it isnt nearly as fun this year--they moved tailgating far away--about 1/2 mile to make it look like our campus is supporting alcohol---who cares for schrist sake---let us be kids! 04-drinky 04-drinky 04-drinky 04-drinky

What's is that? Even in Florida they prefer to watch Buckeye games?

Been there twice. Other than people peeing in the creek, it is a great spot.
I don't know who has the best, as the only way I can categorize the ones I've been to is mostly based on how friendly the folks are.....of the MAC tailgates I've been to (at away games) I liked NIU 'cause they have a nice field behind the stadium and the fine folks in DeKalb are really friendly (even to a guy in Miami colors!). BSU's tailgate is not as scenic (blacktop behind the stadium, at least where I was), but again, there is friendly banter and a nice family atmosphere. CMU's used to be on the parking lots south of the stadium.......but again, I enjoyed them and for those of you that are used to CMU being lousy, when they are winning it's pretty rowdy in Mt. Pleasant.

The wildest pre-game tailgates I've been to in person are at Ohio State and LSU.....man, at LSU it's a "art form" with great food, etc. OSU is a beer-soaked party. NW has some great family activities there (tent with kid's games, etc. with Goose Island Brewski's for the adults), and the folks there are friendly (and probably resigned to losing to Miami when we're in town I guess). Enjoyed being in Evanston alot. I was in a RV at MSU when we played them.....like all B10 teams (outside of NW) there is no respect for a MAC opponent, so you don't see that much passion. (although we only lost to them by a point as it turned out).

To be honest, I have never had real problems at an opposing team's game, but other than wearing my Miami cap I have never tried to "get into it" with a fan of the opposition. The worst language I've heard is mostly at OSU and WVU games I've been to.......
