We put up 59 against WMU. WMU can make anyones offense look high powered.
As I stated on another board, BG has played two good teams and lost to both.
Their offense is great...but so is ours.
Now lets take down Toledo....my vacation is in place, hotel reservations made...Tuesday can not come soon enough.

Exactly, Bob. They pile up the points against lousy teams but have struggled when playing better teams - last year was the major exception.
Besides, their D couldn't stop ours in the 2nd half of that game. Imagine what we'd do to 'em with Haldi and a healthy AJ to split carries and keep Wolfe fresh.

They have Huskie envy - can't get enough of comparing their team to ours over and over and over and over.
Here's the deal guys. NIU and BGSU fans can bicker and argue all they want, but realistically, two MAC west teams will be sitting home this winter. That is a crime. That fact that, mathematically, Akron could get a bowl bid is horrible. The fact that 4 or more teams from conference USA will be in bowl games is terrible. The idea that the #7 Big Ten team will receive a bowl game and be "disgusted" that they weren't good enough to get into a "good" bowl while we scratch and claw for a bid and get nothing (10-2 last year) is disgusting. The MAC west has 3 teams that are very, very good. I proud of the attendance that NIU has put together over the past 3 years. I was at the game that snapped the massive losing skid (tearing down those goal post is and always will be one of the greatest moments in my life. I will cherish taking part in what was essentially a riot down Lucinda and walking out into the Lagoon with the post). I have a tremendous amount of respect for BGSU (despite the fact that the fans I encountered last year were violent and of poor decorum, unbecoming of decent college football fans). All told, I think that having rivals like Toledo and BGSU is great. Screw all of the writers that think our conference is a joke. Screw 'em. I guess I'm just bitter that I will be pissed off again this year as I watch a cadre of sub-par "major" conference teams stumble through bowl games, bringing in more money for the have's while us have nots dream of having enough money to update our facilities to the point where our football and soccer teams don't have to share locker rooms.
If NIU and BG win out, and Akron wins the east but loses in the MACC, they'd then be 7-5, and BG will get the bowl invite instead of Akron.
But my money is on Miami to win the East.

Your analysis is dead-on. I remember last year crossing my fingers for a bid to the Fort Worth Bowl. Yet, a buddy of mine who is a Miami(Fla) grad feels as if his team's season is over since they are out of the running for the national championship. It's all a matter of perspective-he's used to being in the BCS championship hunt every year while we're from a conference that's sorely under-represented during bowl season. Here's hoping both NIU and BGSU get bowl bids.

I agree completely - if Akron gets there and loses, they will not get a bowl bid - the winner of UT/BG would (again, assuming we are the West rep).
Okay....I guess I have to explain this again. There is a main page to the entire MAC forum where all messages can be seen in all boards. I don't go looking for any board in particular...I read messages from all boards and when I feel the urge, I comment.
And how can we have Huskie envy when we have Rockette envy according to every rockette fan.
Once again...when you get a history of winning some meaningful games then we can talk about how great NIU is in football...three decent years and a few quality wins is nothing to get too pumped over.
Just try beating the rockettes for once!

We can talk about how great NIU IS in football right now, we just can't talk about how great NIU WAS the past 2 decades. I think 9-2, 8-3 is better than decent. And beating Bowling Green this year was definitely a meaningful win.
