Okay, since BG put up 666 yards on the Broncos :( Becoming the 3rd team to break the Broncos team record for most yards given up in a game, may as well see that record broken two more times.

Just for the sake of having that number stuck at the top spot in the record books I say that Western Michigan will surrender 667 yards and the final will be 65-14.
I think the defense will show up for this game. My prediction is that it will be 52-21 and they will give up only 550 yards.
So why do I get the feeling we are being set up?

Uh, you aren't.

Against Toledo the Broncos gave up 59 points and 649 yards.

Against Northern Illinois the Broncos gave up 59 points and 653 yards.

Against BGSU the Broncos gave up 52 points and 666 yards (Heck, it was 42-0 at the half, or was it 49-0? I don't remember, I just know the spanking they gave the Broncos hurt) :(

The Broncos have kept only 1 opponents under 24 points this season and that was against Tennessee-Martin in a 42-0 win over a bottom of the rung D-1AA team. If they kept the originally schedule with UCONN as our opening opponent the team would be 0-9 right now. :(
So I guess you are looking forward to hoops season. Are the Broncos going to be able to replace their inside studs? I would think your perimeter players are as good as anybody in the league.

49-0. Bowling Green had about 550 yards of total offense at that point.

Actually I have to say I am happy puck season is here, but I am also happy about hoops season for both the men and women. As for our men's team, we only lost two starters. I see a slight dropoff from last year but 20 wins is not out of the question at this time.
We're laying an egg right now in hockey. We were pre-season #6, but we are one game under .500.

And our season has been a pleasant surprise, some misadventures with magic markers notwithstanding. I believe Bowling Green has crawled into the high teens in a couple of polls with a 3-1 start. They swept Union to start 2-0 for the first time since 1996, then split with Lake Superior State.

The team is at Nebraska-Omaha this weekend.
Congrats on the good start freude. I wish I could say I am following my Broncos, but I am more of a NHL fan and I think we all know what is happening there. I read the paper on the weekend and stuff but have no idea on how they are doing. I know my bad. :chair:
Score?
WMU: Team only scores with a football whore after the game  much like UCF

Miami: Depends on the how much blood they want extract 03-razz

Yards?
WMU: negative 3

Miami: 1 googleplex.....much like what they did to UCF last year

MMMMMMM!! More bad football!!! Can I watch this game or listen to it????? Please!!!
Considering that the MAC-W is so much better than the MAC-E, I say Miami (OH) makes it close:

WMU 20-Miami (OH) 18
Total yds Miami (OH)- 333. They're about half the team BG is.

BG defeated Notre Dame last Thursday in BG and tied the Irish Friday night in South Bend to take 3 outta 4 points. 04-rock

We need to take 2 at Neb-Omaha this weekend. Coach Paluch has the Falcons on their way back to glory!!!!! 04-bow 04-bow 04-rock 04-rock
Like I mentioned before I dont follow college hockey very much. The last I had heard or seen anywhere was that UNO was pretty good. Will wish ya luck against them. And I think that we play Notre Dame this weekend. That is what it said on the scoreboard at the basketball game today. And Torch, Miami could be half the team that BG is but it wont matter. The only way WMU and its porous defense has any chance of beating Miami is if Miami makes a wrong turn somewhere and doesnt show up. Our offense may score 20 but we will give up alot more than 18. With a little luck there will be a Bells Brewery stand inside Waldo this weekend. :D
You guys are lucky. If Marshall had ever had a hockey team there is no chance I would have ever graduated. Would have been to many many games, but never graduated. All we had was the Blizzard: entertaining, fight filled, bad ECHL product. And I loved it. I have now missed two Carolina Hurricanes games from my miniplan, so college hockey is all I can watch. Thank goodness for the Fox college sports nets.
Sorry I haven't been able to post sooner about WMU hockey, I've been busy driving.

Well so far this season the Broncos dropped 2 to UNO. Took two from Niagara. Split the other couple of series and tonight they tied Notre Dame after holding the lead for most of the game. Notre Dame scored twice in the 3rd to force the 2-2 tie.
Football: For some reason I see Miami winning a decisive game, but not an embarrassing over-by-halftime blowout. I dunno. Maybe it's because of the last home game for the seniors (although I still wouldn't be shocked if we lost by fifty). Miami 34 WMU 17.

Basketball: Awfully hard to replace Williams and Kann, but I think we'll do OK this season. Somewhere around 17 or 18 wins for a relatively young team seems a possibility. I'd be sadly stunned if this team has a losing record in any of the next few years.

Hockey: The Broncos are always right around .500, year after year after year, and either don't make the CCHA playoffs OR squeeze in but lose in the first round. And as I write this post, we are... at .500.
I say total points out-distances total attendance. :D
Hey CE, your prediction must depend on how many people Miami brings with them. Mowtown, I was at the exhibition yesterday against Quincy. At times we looked pretty good but we are going to miss Williams and Kann. Without the two of them we didnt have much of an inside presence. I will say though that Reitz has all the possibilities of being another Kann. Needs to bulk up a little bit muscle wise but plays like Kann did.
