GRACIOUS EXIT: He’s been thrown plenty of softball questions both from the media and fans, but Pruett refuses to take a swing at the MAC upon Marshall’s departure.

He’s taken the high road, even though Marshall takes more shots than Monday Night Football’s Desperate Housewives bit.

"Having been a player in the MAC and having grown up in the Mid-American Conference and been fortunate enough to have so much success it’s been great," Pruett said. "And to be an integral part of the evolution and the revolution of the Mid-American Conference because over the eight years we’ve been in it we’ve transformed into national prestige.

"But you have to hand it to the other schools. If you’re really committed you step up

to your competition, and certainly we took them and shocked them but they started coming on and stepping up and stepping up and investing.

"That’s what we’ve got to continue to do, too."

:crying:

Maybe you don't understand "gracious".
Glad to see Pruett leave with some class.Marshall was good for MAC
football and the MAC was good for the Herd while it lasted.I will still
miss the Herd-Rocket games.

I will miss those games too. :(
I did notice the Rockets come to Huntington in January for a basketball game. The game is on a Saturday, any Rockets making the trip?
Large difference between Pruett taking the high road and Mullet Boy learning what Gracious means, much less how to spell it.
Confucius says:

"It's easy to be gracious when you haven't won the MAC East two years running!"

With the team that we are supposed to have, I am sure we will have some fans there but not many. Our basketball attendance isn't very great, but hopefully it will be better with the hype of this team. We have a tough OOC schedule though with games at Vanderbilt, Duke, and East Carolina; vs Auburn in the San Juan Shootout and a home game against Nevada plus our Bracket Buster Game.
there is no reason for UCF or Marshall to take shots at the Mac. The Mac has been good for both schools.
One reason I hate to see Marshall leave is the class of Pruitt. I am of the opinion that he is the best recruiter and coach in the MAC. Coach Pruitt always gave his oponent the proper credit.
I do not know what happened to the herd fans however. Years ago, I used to take my family to Huntington every other year as an away game. The atmosphere became so family unfriendly at some point, that my wife no longer wanted to be confronted with that atmosphere. We have not made that 6 hour drive in a long time. Really, it is too bad for the MAC and Marshall that it did not work out, but I have a feeling that the MAC will do just fine without Marshall. I am not so sure that Marshall will do OK in their new associations. But anyway, I still admire your coach.

I'm sorry for the few jerks that kept you from coming , it's a shame
that fans from any school have to feel this way , that they can't attend
away games and support their team ...I made the trip to Kent back in
'97 and had a good time ...

I agree....I was there for BG/MUg in 1999 and 2001 and I received very good treatment. There was ONE fan on the inside of the stadium, drunk off his kiester, that saw my jersey and screamed "Bowling Green Sux!!!". Even most of the Herd fans around us looked at him like "What the heck are you doing??"

I thought it was a great game day atmosphere there in Huntington. No matter what school, there are always a few A holes that try to ruin the day.
there are always some jerks at any game.....I have found most fans of most schools are pretty good..... just a few screw it up for many.... went to tallahasse when UCF played there a few years ago.... had a great time... FSU people were great.

Your signature has a typo in it. The word is SHAT. :D

I didn't want my intended audience to have to look anything up. It makes them grumpier.
