Who's going? I'm bringing a group of 6. If I remember correct, SMSU had a pretty decent team last year and beat #24 SIU in the MVC tourney. Should be a good matchup...
I'm bringing my son, Baby Corn and perhaps two others. Despite the enticement of $1 tix, I expect a small turnout....

Based on price per pound, I would think babycorn should get in for a quarter.

Attendance will be interesting for that game, I think there are going to be alot of rugrats running around the Convo that night, but as long as they are butts in seats thats ok with me.
I spoke with the NIU athletic marketing dept. last week and there are expecting a sell out - 10,000 people. They are trying hard to reach out to the local community and surrounding suburbs to get families to come, bring their kids, etc. The promotion is good. We'll see how good the execution is...
He's actually hefty for his age; I've developed shoulder tendinities from carrying the little booger around... 03-wink

It'd be great to have a huge turnout of townies w their kids. I'd love to see the people who are new to town really latch onto NIU athletics as the thing to do. Hopefully this promotion will go a long way toward doing that, as we townies will have the place to themselves on Wednesday night. I suspect most of the kids will be long gone, just like last year.

Unfortunately, theres an ugly storm headed our way. When is this first taste of winter going to hit the DeKalb area, MaddDawgz, and what all will it entail?
Ugly is right!!

The computer models have trended further and further south over the past few days, and now the main band of rain/snow looks like it will probably stay mainly south of Dekalb. Wednesday night is going to be brutal though, there will probably be a few snow flurries and some stiff northwest winds, wind chills by 10pm probably right around 10 degrees ugh! Hopefully the cold/wind and a few snow flurries wouldnt keep people away.

I thought you were smoking something Kedzman, but I just saw on the press release for the SW MO St. game that 4300 tickets have already been sold. A sell out would be incredible! Maybe if NIU goes to a bowl they can use the payoff from that bowl to have a few more of these dollar nights, including the March 2nd game to win the MAC West from Toledo. :) I probably sound like I'm smoking something now, but GO HUSKIES!
Are they still charging $3 for parking despite the $1 admission price?

As far as I can tell it just includes soda, popcorn, and tickets. I hope those of us not in the Huskie pup club or whatever it is called dont have to park at Brigham field 03-lol
With 10,000 kids coming they had better start popping the popcorn NOW!!!!! The Convocation Center concessions are the worst. I've stood in line at games with 1,500 people in attendance. Can't imagine how well they are going to perform on Wednesday.

What a wonderful sight it would be for this team to see a full house.
hey, flying corn:

Did you ever call your dad POPCORN?
Do I go to game or miss my mother in laws birthday party?
Intersting what cheap ticket prices and a little advertising does. Wouldn't it be better to sell cheaper tickets and get people on concessions and parking for all our games.

The Convo needs to get to the point where we have 5000+ for every game.
