According to published reports, Navy has been invited to the Emerald Bowl, but is considering its options as other bowls may come a calling. They hope to make a decision today, but I don't see how they can say no (assuming they respond today) since the other bowls courting them are still unsure if slots will be available. Navy is a good fit for that bowl, since they have lots of active duty and retirement alums out there on the west coast.

BTW - it appears that both sides of the Emerald Bowl are going to be open (not taking into consideration yet Navy being offered and possibly accepting).

On Hawktalk I think someone posted that Navy accepted the Emerald Bowl bid....I did not see it in today's Chicago papers, though.

Navy has accepted and will play either Wyoming or New Mexico, according to the NY Daily News.
