Thanks Essency for all of your hard work! 04-bow
I am going to miss Essency's attendance numbers next year. :(
31,981, A great way to finish the year, I can't wait till Dec 2nd!
How the hell did we average 20,000 while not winning a single game?

I'd hate to imagine what an actual winning season would do for attendance.
looks to me like the mac will eventually end up with 8 to 10 fb schools when all the dust settles in a few years.
Great job Essency through the years with your site and attendance data. I certainly will miss you on this forum now that UCF is leaving. Keep in touch, Nick
MUg averaged 2000 less fans this year than we did last year ...
Just FYI, that attendance figure for CMU is incorrect. We had over 10,100 fans at the Ball State game and needed less than 10,000 to make 15,000/game. The MAC website has been off on our stats all season long.

From the CMU website: total five game attendance = 75,216 or 15,043/game.

Thanks much, Essency. Given the kind of season UCF had, your fan support was very good. Congrats to Marshall and NIU for their continued good attendance, and what a great crowd UT had last night......had to impress bowl scouts!

What are you talking about? That's all we have now!

Its scary that eventhough UCF and WMU were horrible, they still had more fans than the MAC East champs.
Well based on those attendance numbers and overall record NIU should get the 3rd bowl but who knows, seems like BG is favored.
Good job with the attendance figures this year - very interesting but probably a load of **** in a number of cases.
Can't wait to see if we get to hear the audited numbers. I was at the EMU-NIU game and there is no way that there were more than 1,500 people there. There was no way those turnstyles could have spun over 4,000 times. I suspect the same may be true at BSU and one or two others. This attendance requirement, if enforced, will be very interesting to follow and could spell trouble for the MAC.

First of all, congratulations on being, oh, the 423rd poster to make that assessment on a MAC board over the past few years. How insightful. But it looks like the attendance rule will die a quiet death in the off-season, much to your apparent chagrin.

As for your comments about BSU, go take a flying leap. You have no idea what you're talking about. We adhered to the rule this year and our numbers are audited. If anything, our attendance was undercounted by a couple of thousand at both the EMU and NIU games.

The Toledo crowd was awesome last night 04-bow

If Marshall would stop putting every single game on local TV we could average even more 03-banghead

Congrats to NIU as well :)

Every one of Rockets' games, except for one, was televised in Toledo.

All of NIU's games except for Central Florida were on in the Chicago/NIU area.

It looks like NIU and Toledo would have averaged more too :)
All of this begs the question, what would you rather have?

1) 28,000 in the stadium and a TV viewing audience of 200,000 or
2) 35,000 in the stadium and no TV.
