I just don't see the NCAA going through with this............we shall see.
I agree eCK, plus, those figures from the NCAA aren't complete. The actual average attendance for EMU is 16,060 not 14,387. The official NCAA site only lists the the five games played at Rynearson because that stat is used to determine other things also such as pct. of capacity of each team's home stadium, etc...and therefore does not include the Ford Field game with CMU which had announced attendance of 24,423. In other words, EMU's average for its games at Rynearson Stadium was 14,387 but 16,060 when factoring in the home game at Ford Field.

Here is the link to the site that writer used for his article (note it is a .pdf document): <a href='http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/Internet/attendance/IA_AVGATTENDANCE.pdf' target='_blank'>NCAA Attendance Stats</a>
Has the NCAA announced how long they plan on keeping schools in I-AA should they fail to meet the attendance minimum and get reclassified?

It ain't happening.
Well, I know that's what most people think....I was just wondering if the NCAA made an official announcement on how long a team would have to stay I-AA.

My guess is that if they do this, it is because they want to narrow the amount of teams down to a decent number and make them all like BCS teams or something. If that truly is the reason, I expect them to make it difficult for the school to get back to 1-A. It's just a hunch, but I could actually see them raising the standard from 15 000 to 20 000 or 25 000 to drop more teams if they are having trouble dropping teams with the 15 standard. I have no real insight, but it's my take anyway.

I don't think they have any plans for that. Part of the problem with this whole thing is that the NCAA is not organized with this whole rule at all. There is a lot up in the air and they have not provided details on how these different things are going to work. Probably because they got pressured into this rule and they really don't plan on enforcing it.
