Sounds like a nice long weekend to me.
rocketfootball Wrote:Looks like Toledo might get to play UCONN this season after all. :DOnly because UConn had to completely revamp their schedule as a result of being admitted to the Big East a year earlier than originally planned.
For those that don't know, last October UCONN backed out of a 1 for 1 deal that had UCONN at the Glass Bowl this year and Toledo playing at UCONN in 2005.
Oddball Wrote:Yeah, right. It's one thing if Toledo had went to UConn and then UConn backed out of the return date, but they backed out of the deal completely. Considering the fact that UConn was a red-hot program last year I doubt they were "scared" of Toledo.

In fact, they even left Western Michigan on their schedule and in the early Spring WMU dropped UCONN.Oddball Wrote:Yeah, right. rocketfootball Wrote:UConn moved up to 1-A about the same time Buffalo did. At that time, the former UConn AD signed some ridiculous long term deal with Buffalo. Unfortunately, while UConn has progressed, Buffalo hasn't been as successful, I'm sorry to say.Murph1 Wrote:Then why did you drop Toledo from your schedule, but not Buffalo? Murph1 Wrote:Umm, coming into this year there was two games left in the Buffalo/UCONN series. One in 2004 and one in 2005. That was the same as what Toledo and UCONN had. Same as Western Michigan and UCONN too.rocketfootball Wrote:UConn moved up to 1-A about the same time Buffalo did. In any event, without knowing all the details, I'm sure trying to get out of such a long term deal would not be the smartest financial move on any school's part.

I could give a rat's a$$ about Toledo or why the UConn/Toledo game never happened.Murph1 Wrote:Umm, coming into this year there was two games left in the Buffalo/UCONN series. Nice try though.

UConn went chicken $hit and dropped Toledo in favor or easier wins.
