As painfull as it may be to acknowledge , UT was clearly the best MAC team this season. Congrats to Rockets. Coming from behind at halftime is no accident nor luck. They looked even better last nite than when they beat NIU. They look so much bigger and stronger upfront than NIU and Miami. ScooterM was a load to bring down -not unlike Turner the burner. Remember the complaints by some Huskie fans about our poor tackling vs UT?
(How many losing seasons has UT had in last 15 or 20 seasons? Little wonder whjy JoeN has said for several yrs "MAC title goes thru Toledo. " It's kinda like Ann Arbor & Columbus for BT pretenders.

If you cannot beat them - join them?
Do you ever foresee either during the Novak era or post JoeN that NIU will have the type of QB talent and line protection/size to operate from the spread offesnse? Can we recruit a Bradkowski, Jacobs, J Harris or Frye? If you are a highly skilled difference maker and larger QB , why would you consider NIU's offense? It sure makes coming from behind a less daunting challenge.. ...Is this spread O mostly a MAC and non BCS trend --- and somewhat an equalizer system as the option football attack was once was considered ? How many really big boys in top twenty employ spread/no huddle? If not, why not? What are it's limitations?
How high a risk O is it compared to others? Was that once not the knock on option football for putting ball on carpet frequently with so many pitches? It's been oftentimes repeated that the spread in collegeball gives defensive coordinators nitemares preparing for it.
Would ND with Meyer do likewise? Why are Hawaii , Boise and others also successfull with throwing the ball so often? Do they have so many more skill and speed athletes than other midmajors/Non BCS competitors ? How about them Utes? What happened to Tiller and Purdue this year?
anyone? anyone?
