Full Version: To everyone that I saw at the game

It was good to see everyone there. It's fun to go to games when you recognize a lot of people. When you see them getting into it, you get into it more yourself. Though, I did go with Miami fans, so I tried to keep myself from being too overbearing for their sake.

TJ: sorry I couldn't stay and talk longer. My friends were waiting for me to go get us napkins and I felt rude for holding them up.

Ranger: you are probably the craziest Rocket fan that I know. Everyone is a good Rocket fan in their own respects, but you are the craziest. *In my best Shawn Hannity Voice:* You are a great American...err I mean Rocket fan my friend.

That reminds me. I should start a thread on everything that I'm thankful for. Okay, I'll use this thread to do it also.

To Oddball, Rocketfootball, and Mark Myers: Thanks for offering your websites up to us fans. It's great to have somewhere to go to get current information and access to message boards regarding Rockets material.

To FredJay and Karl: thanks for the articles that you write and pictures that you take and offer to us Rocket fans. I especially enjoyed Fred's latest article...very humorous. And yes Ranger - you bastard, I did very much enjoy Karl's pics of the cheerleaders. You've got to remember that I'm twenty four years old, so there is no amount of saltpeter that can keep me from enjoying such photos. 03-razz

To Ranger Rocket and Photodan: thanks for the enthusiasm you guys show in improving the atmosphere at the games. Also, thanks for the shirts, jerseys, and other materials that you guys offer for us fans.

To all of the poster on these boards: thanks for giving your insights on all Rocket related subjects, though I wish I would read less titles such as "fire Lou West" or "Fire this guy" or "Fire that guy" etc. We sound like UM or ND fans when we talk like that. I should note that I've never advocating firing anyone on this board because I'm just $150 per year fan of the team.

To everyone who supports the University or athletic department in some form or another: thanks for your support. The only way that the athletic department can improve facilities or coaches salaries, etc. is from our continued support. I wish I was much more established at this point so that I could offer much more financial support myself.

To the players and player's families: thanks for everything that you do to improve the university and its athletics. Thanks to the family members of the athletes who are able to make it to games and support their friends or family on the field.

To the coaching staff: Thanks for continually fielding a product that deserves much more support than it gets. I think that we as fans are moving in the right direction to getting more people involve though.

To the university: thanks for the support that you give the athletic department. Though many of us fans argue about more needing to be done, I was very impressed with the efforts that were put in the TMSU game and then the work that the alumni association has done with the MACC and the MCB.

If I'm forgetting anything, please add your thoughts.

Not a problem, I figured you probably didn't want to keep the lovely ladies of Findlay waiting. 03-wink
I'd like to second your post.

Fred, I know first-hand what a huge sacrifice you're making when you report on each game. With the restrictions in place in the press box, it takes a bit of the FAN out of you while you're doing the business of keeping us all informed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed doing it and I'd do it again anytime, but I know it's not easy and I thank you for giving up your time and efforts for it.

The athletic department and the university seem to be getting the idea that there IS support out here in the rest of the city/world. The Alumni Association has done a great job with limited resources as well. Those of you who wish you could do more but don't have lots to spend, JOIN THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. It's dirt cheap folks, and the benefits are plentiful. On top of that, they use the money very wisely. Check it out

If you're able to do more, I'll post it again: Join the Rocket Fund.

I've been hugely impressed with the involvement of the players' families. Bruce's really takes the prize in that category, but they've all been wonderful and a lot of fun to be around when we get the chance.

The guys operated websites at their own expense are my heros. Truly a labor of love, and I know it can be a lot of work. Thanks guys!

The players sacrifice more than most of us know to entertain us. Their sport alone is like a full-time job, and they're doing school work on top of it.

The coaches work amazing hours and put in incredible efforts to be the best. The fact that they're able to stay on top year after year is testament to their work ethic and their love of the sport.

The STUDENTS...wow...it wasn't too long ago that we were complaining on this and other boards about the lack of student interest and support. Thanks to efforts by groups like the Blue Crew and Student Government, and the university, and the kids themselves, that has turned around dramatically. They are truly becoming the 12th man. I hope to see the day soon when they will be recognized as such at halftime. You guys

I am a member of the Alumni Association, but I never know when they are doing anything other than the football related stuff. But you are right, it is dirt cheap.
Thanks for the kind words TJ and Karl. This season has been special for me, in any number of ways, and I'm tremendously proud to be a Rocket.

Now how about a big group hug!!! :) :) :)
Gee, I don't know.....

but of course, there's nothing WRONG with that.... 03-wink

Unless Karl is done lactating, count me out of the group hug.

Well Touchdown Rrrrrooockets!, the truth be told, I kind of like the cheerleader pictures myself. 03-wink

This has been a fun year, and I have a hunch that next year is going to even top this one.

Keep "IT" going Rockets!!! 04-rock
