Cal lost 11 votes and Texas picked up 12 votes.
It is all going to come down to the computer rankings,

nah...I think that may have been enough.

Get ready for California, unless the coaches give Cal a bump.

Or...We can hope that Cal jumps an Idle computer darling UTAH.
I am surprised that many votes changed, however, going to San Jose looks like the safe bet.
Coaches poll is released at 1:30 p.m. our time so that will give us some more info.
this is bad for us.....texas is now ahead of cal by .0051 if nothing else changes....we need help from the computers now
Even if the coaches poll stays the same as last week (which it certainly won't), Cal would need to move up in 3 of the computer calcuations in order to reach .82.

As for the computers,

A&H = ??
RB = THIS WILL BE CAL'S LOWEST
CM = ??
KM = ??
JS = OUT, CAL MOVED UP 1
PW = ??

If Cal moves up in 2 of the ??, we go to LA, if they don't, we go to San Jose. I don't know enough about the specific computer rankings to determine if Cal still has a chance, I'd guess not.
... we may meet our friends from Troy. But I can't get that day off from work, so I'll have to watch on TV. I was really hoping for Shreveport.
When the coaches poll comes out in an hour, we will know more. If Cal losses 7 and Tex gains 7, if would take changes in 4 of the computer rankings.
Points are BS. Cal is #4 Texas is # 6 enough said. I hate this system, they say it is going to end the controversey and problems, but all it does is add more. 03-banghead

As of right now cal is hurting, but I do feel there is a chance they will jump UTAH in the COMPUTERS.
im with gambler here.....the polls will hurt us...its just a question of how much

but in looking at the hyroglyphics that are the formulas for the computer rankings...it looks like there is a better than average chance that they might help

Cal beat a top 50 team on the road....none of them take into account (From what I can see) a game by game point differential so the ten point win can only help. Winning looks like it will add points rather than being idle which looks to "not help" UT and UTES. One pole is in and I have been to the other 5 sites....as each come in we can refigure.....i think the accountants here in the NIU stable will be able to figure this all up before ESPN announces.

ITs not that hard as soon as they publish the comp numbers. (One of the sites say 4pm cst)
How many can we count on --- will MAC coaches vote for cal? How about big 10?

I've been saying for sometime now that if you want to properly pick who are the best teams, you need to let the computers do it - they eliminate the human bias and stigma of getting played tough by USM on their field when Cal was a 24pt favorite, as opposed to realizing that USM is always a tough trip and they won at Nebraska this year.

I sure hope those computers help us out now, but I'm really disappointed in the writers and coaches to not look at the reality of that game - they could have made it look better by purposely tacking on another TD late, but they did the classly, right thing and took a knee once it was sure. That tells me that the voters ARE NOT actually paying attention, and is really disheartening, not just as an NIU fan potentially missing out on the Indy Bowl, but as a football fan that hoped that voters actually took a look at what's going on. It's why I do not trust the humans.
what is cal's chat room saying?

In honesty CAL should have put So. Miss away before the 4th, that is what is hurting them.

Dan i disagree about computers, they can't watch games, they can't get a feel for them. The honest feel was that CAL did not preform like they could have against SO MISS.
its over unless cal jumps TEXAS in one of the computers (ait gunna happen)

Cal texas
ap .8609 .8276
espn .8432 .8400
com .8400 (if 4 of 6 rank cal 21) .8800 (if they rank ut 22)

average .8480 .8492
