Interesting to see commentary from our SEC West brethren, lol.
ALABAMA
ptguard: looks like arkansas gets off lightly. i guess ole franky still carries a lot of weight with the ncaa boys.
Stang: Has there ever been a "secret witness" used before??? That has got to be the most incredible aspect to this entire mess. How much more childish and outlandish can the NCAA get?
Bamalanta: ..I would have to conclude from reading the report that the Arkansas compliance staff did a good job of protecting the University's interest. It may not fly with the NCAA, but they put together a good report that gives them a chance of minimum penalties...JMHO.
JoeBryan: the enforcement staff. When you have the devil working with you, you should get it right and acceptable. We did not have the enforcement staff working directly with us to prepare a Summary Disposition in 1995, and, we could not have a Summary Disposition this time.
However, the enforcement committee did agree with us on what we thought back in 1995. But, the COI was out to get more.
Yea Alabama : Arkansas shouldn't have been able to have the enforcement staff working with them since they were a repeat offender. The NCAA bent the rules to allow this to happen. I don't consider the following secondary violations.
OLE MISS
Beat Root McKinley: Arkansas imposes more sanctions on themselves. You have to love these schools like Arkansas that self impose penalties and even better more allegations break and they think they can wrist slip themselves again.
Houston Sherrill and Frank Bryoles need to go down hard. (Ouch, did someone say BILLY BREWER?)
Auburn, LSU, and Miss. State offered no commentary on the matter.
