BOWLING GREEN -4 1/2 vs Memphis
TOLEDO -3 vs UConn
MIAMI -3 vs Iowa St
NORTHERN ILLINOIS -1 vs Troy
Cincinnati -2 vs MARSHALL

If we actually win 4 out of 5, I'll take it!! 04-rock
I still don't see how a team that lost to ARMY is favored over ANYONE

Troy, UConn, and Iowa State will win their games as well.

1-4. You saw it here first, so when it actually happens you won't be surprised.
Wow, that's odd. BG's match up scares me the worst. Memphis can run the ball, and BG can be schizophrenic. If the offense gets going...cool. But, I don't see it as an easy victory.

OTOH, Miami (OH) should do well against ISU. I don't think U[sic]T can get behind UConn, but frankly, they shouldn't worry about that. NIU will win the slugfest against Troy. That's your lock of the week.

4/5 wins could get the MAC that bowl championship trophy. That would be HUGE, IMO.

Toledo has to worry about UConn's offense. Their dangerous from the air. That Big East membership got them really good really fast. I remember only four short years ago when we went up to Storrs and beat the heck out of them 66-10.

As for Troy, I can't see Nothern Illinois' offense breaking Troy's defense. Troy should beat that Huskie team like a rag doll by a bare mininum of two touchdowns.

As for Memphis State, they aren't all what they are cracked up to be. Believe you me, we have to live in the same state as them. They may have something nice on offense, but their defense absolutely sucks. I think BG can win with a solid offense. I don't know anything about your defense. If BG plays good D, ya'll should win. Heck, Arkansas State nearly beat the kitties this season and hung over 30 on them.
The Huskies are unpredictable............hard to say how they'll line up with Troy, which has a good defense. If the Huskies can run the ball well against, Troy, then it'll really open up play-action pass which Haldi and Sheldon are good at......despite the very confident predictions of our Sunbelt visitor, I think this game could go either way easily.

Troy lost 4 times this year so far. Including Ark St and NMSU. Clearly they are beatable.

With the time off, NIU can be expected to be healthy. That's something they weren't in their biggest games.

You are correct in that Troy is beatable on the road, but I do not see them losing their 'first ever' 1-A bowl game. They will come prepared to play and they are tough.

Good luck to all the bowl teams (especially the SBC and Big 10) and I hope all the young players come through with no serious injuries!
The MAC will win all five of their games this year and really piss off the bowl brass that tries so hard not have alliances with the MAC. Look for us to have three solid bowl tie-ins next year if we have any success and bring some fans this year.

I'm certain Coach West and the defensive unit will give due attention to preparing for UConn's offense. Toledo has certainly given up a few points to good passing teams this year, as well as some good running teams. The defense has definitely improved greatly over the course of the season as the youngsters grow into college football players. I'm looking forward to seeing UConn's offense for the first time.

One more thing....

I might suggest that UConn may need to be a bit concerned about Toledo's offense as well. It's fairly potent too. 03-wink
nevermind
I, like most of the college football world, know nothing about UCONN.
I heard they have a good QB from someone at the MACC game. That's all I know.
UConn has a very solid offense. Both teams will easily notch over 35 points.
BGSU has a great QB
Memphis has a great RB

BGSU has a suspect run defense
Memphis has a suspect pass defense

It's going to be fun!

...and that Arkansas State team that we had to come back against...Ole Miss had to come back against them in Oxfart. Plus, ASU hates Memphis the same way Memphis hates Tennessee, Louisville hates Kentucky, Hawai'i hates playing a clean game, and MTSU hates anyone outside the Sun Belt!

Don't get me started about MTSU...the state built y'all a nice new stadium and we can't get squat from them for facilities. ...and then what do you (collectively) do...not show up to games! Then again, I wouldn't waste a Saturday afternoon watching MTSU play either!

Cincy...yeah, they lost to Army, then turned around and stomped Memphis and Southern Miss at Cincinnati and Hattiesburg, respectively! They didn't have anything in the tank for Louisville, but don't take them lightly.
But Cincinnati beat Memphis and SoMiss with Gino at QB.

Without him - they'll get stomped.

As long as NIU has a full squad (no need to explain to the sunbelt fans), they should win. Troy's first ever bowl. This is true but come on, the last time NIU was in a bowl Troy wasn't even swimming in Division I-A's nut sac.
I see the MAC going 1-4 or 2-3 in these bowl games.

Do not underestimate the Trojans; being new to 1-A is not a factor for Troy. From the San Jose newspaper about the bowl game:

This season, Northern Illinois lost by three points at Maryland and seven points at Iowa State.

Northern Illinois Coach Joe Novak said. ``We're both programs fighting and scratching and trying to get a national identity. Both teams are thrilled to be here.''

Troy (7-4) is wrapping up its fourth season as a Division I-A program. The Trojans, from Troy, Ala., finished second in the Sun Belt Conference and recorded marquee wins at Marshall and against Missouri, ranked No. 18 at the time.

Troy's biggest test of the season was a near-upset of defending national champion Louisiana State. The Trojans led 20-17 until the Tigers scored on a 30-yard pass with 2:18 left.
I'd say all the MAC bowls are pretty much a toss-up, no matter what Vegas says........we could go 4-1 or 1-4. I'd say 3-2 is a good guess.

I apologize to MAC fans as this really doesn't belong on this thread, BUT. . .

The state did NOT pay for MTSU's stadium. The school paid for that stadium through money it gets from its 22,000 students. The Tennessee Board of Regents kisses Memphis State's royal behinds financing a medical school and many other academic areas! They don't give MTSU jack squat!

BTW, we handled Arkansas State pretty well defeating them 45-17. What was Memphis State's excuse for only winning 47-35?

Memphis is overrated and Bowling Green will show your kittens just how good they ain't.
