BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Miami (Ohio) football coach Terry Hoeppner reportedly has accepted the head coaching job at Indiana.

The Bloomington Herald-Times quotes sources close to the IU program as saying that Hoeppner met with the Miami team Thursday night and told them he was taking the Indiana job.

The Hoosiers are expected to make an official announcement later Friday.

Hoeppner has a 48-23 record in six seasons as head coach at Miami of Ohio. He was a RedHawks assistant for 13 years. He also coached at Franklin College and at two high schools.

Miami (8-4) will play Iowa State (6-5) in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 28 in Shreveport, La.
