I wish we had a veteran QB, but this is still awfully exciting!!
The Huskie Bus will be in attendance!!!!
That's an awesome game, we'll get one of those boys at their house one of these days. Are you guys dropping ISU?

I'd hit that game but we'll have our hands full with Temple. Maybe we'll put our FB team vs their BB team and see who scores more?

Iowa State will be rescheduled for another year i believe.
I wish we had them at home, but still exciting. Hopefully this game will be on ABC too :)
Two Big 10(11...whatever) teams in one year!!! Now all we need is that one home opponent. I hope it is not another 1-AA team.
I quickly glanced at their message boards and I can tell you that Michigan fans are not happy with playing two MAC teams. Some of them had respect for the Huskies.

One poster (brockbow03) had this comment (he was poking a little fun at Notre Dame)...
"It's about time UM scheduled a tough OOC team 03-lol "
Hopefully they are missing a few people due to flogging the dolphin such as their d lineman that got caught on the chicks porch
NIU still listed to play the Buckeyes in 2006.

Its nice to see that Michigan schedules some quality OOC opponents unlike that school down south that refuses to play us anymore after almost getting embarrassed by us in their conference championship year.

At least 3 Big Ten teams in 2 years - will that qualify for some people as "leaving the MAC for a more high profile conference"? 03-wink
They are really fired up over there on the Michigan rivals board. They are all upset about their "weak" non-conference schedule for next year.

I guess with that "weak" strength of schedule, there goes their national title hopes for next year.

They are more used to playing ND and another BCS conference team - Miami, Colorado, UCLA and Oregon were all home and homes in the last 20 years.

But last year was Miami and SD State. Is that really weaker than NIU and EMU (yeah, I guess so, but only because EMU is still pretty mediocre).

Wow thats awesome, thanks for the post FC!!! Too bad this didnt come 2 years earlier, duffy always said his dream was to play in the Big house. Also, I dont think scheduling 2 MAC teams puts you out of a national title hunt if you are in a conference like the Big 10. If you go undefeated in Big 10 play you always have a shot at the title.

What a great year it will be next year, and what a complete tough tough schedule:

@ NU
@ Michigan
@ BG
@ Toledo
Home vs Miami U

The Michigan game has to be good for future recruiting though. Maybe even ABC for that game!?!

dont hold your breath, although crazier things have happened in huskie nation. getting onto network tv would be a milestone for our university, no doubt about that.

"That school down south". A page out of the Wayne Woodrow Hayes book, eh HMM? I like it!!!! 03-lol Why should we promote them by mentioning their name?!

That school down south... :chair: :chair: :biggun: 04-nuke 03-nutkick 03-nutkick 03-nutkick 03-nutkick

As mentioned previously, I attend a game or two each season at the Big House. It is an unbelievable environment for college football. Those of you who have never been there are in for a wonderful treat. While I root for the Maize & Blue (and the Boilermakers), obviously I will be rooting even harder for the Huskies on this date.

Those of you planning the roadtrip to Ann Arbor should plan on tickets being a hot commodity and by no means easily secured. Even though Michigan is "only" playing NIU, there will be 105,000 in attendance at the Big House as there is for every home game.

Michigan looks to be absolutely loaded in 2005. In fact, some people are already laying odds on their national championship aspirations for next season. I hope NIU can make a respectable contest out of things.
Let me be the first to say we pull the almost upset. Why?

We're the 'tweener game.....After ND and before Wisconsin, start of the B10 season.

In all due respect, I beg to differ. I've been to the "Big House" and I've got to tell you, it's amazing how quiet 100,000 people can be. Michigan "fans" are astoundingly complacent, and just as gutless and devoid of passion as their football teams. Compare them to the homicidal fanatics down in Columbus (I'm wearing a helmet in 2006  ) or the participants in the spectacle of a Notre Dame home game, or even the drunken frivolity of a UW game, and you can see why EVERYONE eventually comes to hate the smug, self-satisfied Michigan "fans".

However, Ann Arbor is a fun town; plan on spending the weekend as theres lots to do...

We'll be 17 dogs easy, with a green starting QB and half a dozen new starters on D and O. They SHOULD destroy us.....

Just like those scary Terrapins should have destroyed us in DeKalb last year... :D
From nationalchamps.net Thanksgiving preview for 2005, they rank the Wolverines as pre-season number 3 in the nation. GULP!!! Here is their preview of the Wolves:

Has NIU ever played a top 3 team, I cannot recall if they have or not.
