HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- John Reimold scored 22 points Thursday night to lead Bowling Green to a 69-64 win over Marshall.

Reimold got a key offensive rebound and hit Germain Fitch for a lay-up to give Bowling Green the lead for good with 48 seconds left.

Josh Almanson and Cory Eyink joined Reimold in double-figures for Bowling Green (8-2, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) with 17 and 14 points respectively.

A.W. Hamilton led Marshall (2-9, 0-3) by tying his career-high with 17 points. Mark Patton added 12 and Joe Miles scored 10 in the loss, Marshall's eighth in nine games.

Reimold, a preseason, All-MAC selection, had 14 of his 22 points in the second half, becoming the 33rd player in Bowling Green history to score 1,000 points.

Fitch's lay-up came after Marshall tightened the defense and scored six straight points to tie the game at 60.<
If anyone told me in September that BG would be 8-2 at this point in the season, I would look at them like I look at posts written in bold blue type.

This team is playing surprisingly well.

Dakich is obviously a good coach. However, WVU is proving that the situation was not impossible. The whole series of events leave me puzzled, I guess things don't always have simple answers.
A good start for BG. Playing well together.
Upcoming road games at EMU and BSU sandwiched around home games with WMU and UT will make for some interesting basketball, and if BG can win 3 of those, will put themselves right in the title hunt. Even just winning the home games is holding serve.

Mixed sports metaphor!

Next time you flame my education aksme, I'm going to pull this one out!
Hey?!? These were quality loses, 5 of these losses were by an average of just over 3 points per game. We are one of the top 10 programs with 9 or more losses.

Right on, axe. We have a difficult stretch coming up starting this Sunday with NIU at AA.

But I have been very pleased with BG's start.... 04-rock
