[quote]Playmakers College?
Chris Ferrell has a great idea. “Czabe, I've got no love for ESPN to begin with, but I can't say I really blame them for grabbing their ankles when "Playmakers" struck a little too close to home for Tags. That said, instead of the their next foray into a dramatic series being professional poker (the most exciting aspect of the promos so far has been the Black Crows soundtrack), why not just drop Playmakers down to a D1-A college team? Almost all the same storylines could be used plus you get to tack on college-only beauties like rogue boosters, academic eligibility, recruiting enticements, small-town police cover-ups, and the subsequent NCAA investigation that might follow any of the preceding. Tack on the potential co-ed factor and explain to me how this in not a good thing? Keep up the good work, and give Jimmy "Masterlock" my thanks and regards.
I also liked the show "Playmakers" and was kind of dissapointed when I found out they weren't going to make any new seasons. While I like the concept of doing a similar show on major collegiate programs, who's to say that the NCAA won't take measures similar to the NFL's? They probably hate hearing about conspiracies, violations, and scandals about as much as the NFL and NFLPA.

Because the NCAA has no power to say who will be on TV (ESPN) and who won't.

Meanwhile the NFL is king, when it comes to sports dollars.

I'm not a big TV watcher anymore, and probably wouldn't have watched Playmakers anyway. But, Czabe liked it, and I thought this train of thought was interesting.
