Assuming Temple applies for MAC membership for football only, what do you think?

You're right........we have to replace UCF. :)
I support it.

We need more markets.

It's a gamble. It may not work. But the fact is, if this doesn't work and Temple stays bad, they will probably drop to I-AA or just drop football. This gives 'em a few more years to see if they can turn things around.

And they might. You never know. And if they do, a decent Temple would be very big for the MAC.
I don't support it.

My favorite line is "Come Strong or Don't Come At All"...meaning bring for all sports or at least basketball and not just football.

Eventhough half of the league is strong, or almost half, we don't need anymore bottom feeders, people already say the MAC is weak as it is, we don't need to add more fuel to fire to make their points more valid. <---speaking football only.
Temple can not deliver the Philadelpia market for the MAC anymore than Rice can deliver
Houston for C-USA.I would say maybe an all sport member, certainly not just F/B
Just as soon as John Chaney retires, Temple will be in for all sports. If Western Kentuckey joins in the near future, what a great BB conference the MAC will have, the Gund would really hum with those two members added. With the addition of Nashville & Phila. The MAC tv package becomes much more desirable & marketable.

I'm thinking Western Kentucky delivers Nashville like Southern Illinois delivers St. Louis like Toledo delivers Detroit.

But... Bowling Green, Ky. is its own tiny market, and I would think a I-A Western Kentucky might be able to achieve numbers in Louisville and Lexington. Maybe a Hilltopper can weigh in on this.

I think that I would still say yes. The east coast/ Philly market and that great stadium is just too much to pass up.
