OTTAWA — Pilots and their planes can come out of the cold now.
Miller City resident Ted Horstman signed a lease Monday for 15,000 square feet of space at the Putnam County Airport. He submitted plans to build a hangar to take up at least 80 per-cent of the 100-by-150-foot piece of property.

Hey, I live in Putnam County. West Virginia that is.
Isn't that a "Certified Business Location"? 03-wink
I don't see any talk in Putnam county for Airline service......the county is thinly inhabited. Nearby Hancock County has twice the population but commuter service never proceeded past the talking stages.
Hell, every county in West Virginia is a "certified business location" if you go by the signs on the interstate. Never understood what the hell that meant anyway.

I thought the were trying to shake the anti-buisness, high tax, pro Union image of the state....

Most likely a special tax break of some sort.

Athens County has about 46,750 residents living above the poverty line. Putnam County has about 34,750.

Neither can support any form of commercial aviation that doesn't involve crop dusting.

Being a Miller City and Putnam County resident, I never thought that I'd see a post on this board mentioning my hometown.

And yes KC Athen's county has more people, but only because of the City of Athens itself. Having spent some time in Athens County and living in Putnam County, I don't think you want to get into an argument over who is more "developed".
