This kid, Brandon Summers, chose Toledo over Indiana. I don't know how good he is, but it's interesting. It seems like the MAC is begining to get a few kids away from the Big 10!

Here is an old blurb on him:

Brandon Summers, Southfield: A two-year starter at quarterback Summers has committed to Indiana. He completed 76 of 112 passes for 1,428 yards and 16 touchdowns with five interceptions. He rushed for 424 yards and four touchdowns on 40 carries. "Brandon is one of those kids who knows how to keep his composure," Coach David Reese said. "His father coaches Little League football in Southfield, so he's been around football a long time."
The Detroit Free Press had him listed on their Blue Chip Recruits as the #14 player out of Michigan, regardless of position.
Congratulations Toledo!!!! This is great news. 04-bow
We also got the #17 ranked player in the state of Michigan before the season started. I believe he fell because of an injury though as wasn't recruited very hard by others.

I am very impressed with Toledo's class, as I am sure you guys will be with NIU's class. We got five players from the state of Florida alone. Our recruiting reached 9 different states and Ontario, Canada this year!
You know Rocket, BG also has recruits from 10 states and I wonder if both of your programs may be getting away from your bread and butter. Sometimes a school gets enamored with national recruitng and gets burned. Although, I have heard that Michigan high school football has declined which seems to bear some truth because that last few tears U of M and MSU have had under 10 kids in their class from Michigan
I am not impressed with the athletes coming out of Michigan either.

I wouldn't say that Ohio/Michigan is our bread and butter. However, we did get a 6-5 WR from the same high school in Ohio that Lance Moore, Steve Odom, and Nick Moore are all from.

Anyway, look at some of the stars on UT and BG's teams. QB Bruce Gradkowski is from PA and Omar Jacobs is from Florida. The two best TE's to play at Toledo in years are from Indiana and Illinois.

Our freshman of the year this past year is from New York. BG has Cole Magner from Alaska. Toledo had Nick Kaczur from Canada........got another great Canadian OL this year too!

RB Trinity Dawson is from Oklahoma. WR Kenny Higgins is from California. Remember QB Brian Jones? He was from California.
Congrats Toledo!
Lets see some out of conference victories now!
No more blow outs by unranked teams please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO MAC! GLORY to the MAC!!
We used to get a bunch of Canadian players . . . many of them went on to steller pro careers . . . in the CFL. That raises a question: why did a coach from the south hit Canada so often? Where was the connection?
