Your Men's basketball team has come a long way this year. Your guys play with a lot of heart and never give up. Romeo Travis is one of the best players in the MAC; if he can ever stay out of foul trouble, look out.

You gave us all we wanted. It would have broken my heart top lose this game. Never thought I'd say this, but iI kind of feel for Zips fan right now.
Wow what an ending. I couldnt goto the game and root on the Flashes tonight because of a stupid class. But I have already marked 2/26 on my calendar when Akron comes looking for revenge. Expect another great game. BTW I love all the MAC games being broadcasted, last 4 of Kents games have been broadcasted. Great work on getting Michael Reghi as the announcer. Well I tivoed the game and will go watch the beginning of it now...Anyone know if akron would have won if they suited up mr LEbron...lol glad we didnt see that 04-rock
You know, I wonder If LeBron bounding his chest for his Zips buddies actually fired up the Flashes. He can't play for them...but he can motivate a stop. And we got plenty of those.
Romeo Travis is a stud! Maybe LeBron can convince him to leave early to go to the NBA!
A great game by the Flashes. It was a heavyweight battle all the way. I've hit all the Akron home games this season, and the Zips had flat-out suffocated every opponent from the opening tip. The Flashes hit the Zips hard from the opening bell and never really were rattled.

Great crowd and a lot of fun. I look forward to finally being a contributor in the previously one-sided Akron/Kent basketball rivalry.

If both teams continue to play well down the stretch and into the tourney, a Kent/Akron matchup could put Gund semi-final attendance through the roof.

It would be total madness. What a scene to see that place rockin. 04-rock

It would even draw Cleveland media attention to the only two DI programs in NE Ohio. 03-banghead Plus, it would make those asshats realize there is something other than OSU football to cover.

Speaking as only one, bring it!

I think the people from Youngstown State and Cleveland State might disagree with that statement.

Ummm, have you seen either of those teams play? I have and it's not pretty. D1 is a stretch with those 2 programs.

03-lol 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol 03-lol

It was nice to see KSU/ Akron on the front of the PD's sports section yesterday, and OSU being relegated to the 6th page with about 1/8 as long of a write up.
I thought it was one of the best games of the year....in any conference. Nice to see a packed JAR on Fox the other night.

Look out for the Zips....Dambrodt has them going. The rematch should be another awesome game.

Congrats to both teams on a fine game. 04-bow

GO BG! 04-rock

I would say that Youngstown is just East Ohio; I do not consider it in with the rest of Northeast Ohio. There are to many nasty Steelers fans in Youngstown to be associated with NE Ohio. 03-wink

Let me clarify... the two DI quality teams in NE Ohio.

You may get the Nobel Peace Prize, klingon. I suspect that two of the FEW things Zips and Flashes can agree upon ( and maybe the ONLY two) is that they both play (1) in a better conference and (2) better basketball than CSU and YSU.
That was a great game. I really didn't know who to root for or against. How good would Akron be if Lebron would have played a year or two in college with his buddies. Nice recruiting tool to have him attend your games. Romeo Travis is strong inside. I hope Tim O'Shea noticed that Ohio could use a guy just like him. Akron has a nice team. Kent showed that they are back to the elite team that they were at the beginning of the year. The Mac east looks like the tougher division this year.
