Thought it would be interesting to see who everyone thinks will be left out.
Who ever is voting Ohio being left out is just being a fool. We haven't lost at home yet and with the remaining MAC schedule we should definitely earn at least a home game for the first round.
Ball State has by far the tougest road of the nine. They have only two homes games left and those two are Toledo and Western Michigan. Akron also has a brutal stretch left to. I think UB and Toledo will surge. Ohio has 3 home games plus Marshall on the road. Just like Kit-Cat said Ohio is not going to finish ninth. They hold to many tie breakers if it came down to that. Kent State and Ohio have a huge schedule advantage over Akron and Ball State. Will 9 MAC teams win 10 conf games? My guess is that Ball State will finish 9-9 and be that 9th seed.

Ohio has a shot, I didn't vote them out.

However, you do have one loss this season at home. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gam...ameId=243630195

Nope...that game was played in Miami, FL. We are 10-0 at home.

Looks like 11 now and there is a first time for everything. Only fool here, is you.
At this point, I think Miami, BG, and Western are going to get the byes. But the way this season is going, anything is possible. I picked Ball State, but only because they are in the 9 spot right now.
Is everybody serious about Ohio, or are you just trying to annoy me because I put up the poll.

I picked Akron just because I think it's fun how they still haven't been to Cleveland since the tournament began there.

Akron 90, Western Michigan 83

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Rashon Brown scored 31 points Monday as Akron beat Western Michigan 90-83 in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament.

Akron (10-20), the No. 11 seed, never trailed in the game and led by as many as 24 points.

The No. 6 seed Broncos (17-13), who have averaged more than eight 3-pointers a game, were held to two 3-pointers until the final minute, when the Broncos hit three in a desperate attempt to catch up to the Zips.

David Falknor scored a career-high 30 for the Zips. Anthony Kann led Western Michigan with a career-high 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Reggie Berry added a career-high 18 points.

Brown, a senior guard who scored a career-high 32 points in an overtime loss to Western last month, hit 10 of 15 shots. He scored 16 in the first half when the Zips raced to a 20-4 lead in the first eight minutes.

*****The win means the Zips will face No. 3-seed Bowling Green in Thursday's quarterfinal at Cleveland's Gund Arena.***** The Falcons were one of the five teams Akron beat in the regular season.

Western trimmed Akron's lead to six with 33 seconds left, but a free throw by Falknor pushed the game out of reach. Akron made 16 of its first 19 shots and finished the game with a 61.9-percent shooting percentage. The Broncos made 45.2 percent of their shots.

Andy Hipsher added 13 points for the Zips, and Darryl Peterson scored 11.

Kent State is going to get upset.

Yes we have. Not like it is anything to brag about, but we lost to BG on a McLoud buzzer-beater about 3 years ago.

I recall that Akron / BG game being one of the best MAC Tourney games ever in Cleveland. Faulknor's three pointer at the buzzer went in and out for Akron.

Really!?! That happened!?!!? I'm sorry. I thought when everybody was complaining on your guys' old crummy board last year that people were saying Akron had never been to Cleveland under D Hip. . . Maybe I was listening to Andy's girlfriend by mistake.

My bad. I'm an idiot.

You may be an idiot, but that is another story.

This thread asks which of the 9 teams won't make it to the Gund. I said Kent because I am predicting them to get upset in the first round.

I have no clue what your comments are for, care to explain?
HeHateMiami Wrote:Is everybody serious about Ohio, or are you just trying to annoy me because I put up the poll.
You have to remember, the b-ball experts on this board have determined that Tim O'Shea is never going to taste any success. He's the worst coach ever. Nevermind the fact that we are in the driver's seat for the #3 seed, and haven't lost at home this year.

Right axeme, Vandelay, etc.?

I think he's saying, "Sure Kent will lose...but will it really be an upset?"

I think he just quoted the wrong thread...I think he was responding to the Akron fan.

I didn't vote for Ohio.
O'Shea is doing an excellent job this year. He has seriously underachieved in his previous 3 seasons for whatever reasons/excuses there are. Ohio looks good to me this year and I have no problems saying that. He gets my vote for COY as of now if he finishes the deal.
Amazingly, consider that most think that we are having a down year and OU is having a great year, and yet we are tied for 2nd place.
Actually, I think we are doing fine and are poised to make a run to the end of the year.

Just ragging on you a little... 03-wink

It's been a rough couple years for the TOS-appologists....we've got to enjoy this run as much as possible. :)
With the way Ball St. has been playing i can't see them making it to the gund.
