8th Inning- 5 runs given up. 2 BSU batters reached on errors and both scored. Another scored on a passed ball. That's 3 runs directly tied to errors. The defense handed BSU 5 outs that inning.
4 earned runs by BSU today (all in the 9th with BSU up 8-6). They scored 15.
Good news- our pitchers don't walk batters. But the defense is horrible. Just looking at the numbers and the box scores it looks like even if the pitching were better the defense would still be killing this team.
I don't know what it takes to get a team's head right- but if it were me I'd be having them take infield until it hurts.

Anyone been able to make a game? I'd love to hear some first hand accounts. I'm just reading box scores here. I still need to get to a game, its a great way to spend a spring afternoon. At least it would be if I don't have to watch infielders boot the ball all day.
Enough to make you want to put the NIU gear away until this fall. Not only baseball but softball also choked.
