Full Version: MAC Football Predicted Standings

Since BB season is over and football season is still some time in the future, I thought it would be interesting to get everyone's predictions on the up coming football season, except with a twist. Give you predictions without you team in the standings. Since every fan would put their own team first, I thought by eliminating everyone's favorite team, we would get a more unbiased opinion. Here is mine: I'm a NIU fan so after eliminating NIU I would predict:

MAC West:
1) Toledo
2) C. Mich
3) E. Mich
4) W. Mich
5) Ball State

MAC East:
1) Bowling Green
2) Miami
3) Akron
4) Ohio
5) Kent
6) Buffalo

MAC Champ:
Bowling Green
West

4) Eastern Michigan

Have Karl & GlassBowl9 established a precedent so we can still pick our school as the conference champ? Doesn't make sense to me, so ...

You cant skip number one! That breaks the rules by implying a vote! I dunno the east well enough to predict, i just felt the need to scold the toledo people :)

On second thought...the problem might not be with school bias but lack of educational quality at toledo.

Maybe he was talking about a LESION....like what happens to NIUs defense when they play Toledo...

As for my vote...I was just trying to be cute. Apparently that didn't go over so good. Maybe I shoulda used the :D thingy.

Lession is not a word - Lesion is something you get at BG, Lesson is something that you could use.

Oddball, when you predicted Ball State to finish last in the West this year, you apparently forgot to look at the schedule first. Your beloved Rockets have to play in Muncie this year, on Homecoming no less. Rarely does a team finish last in a division when it has at least one conference win. Your buddy, Karl, recognized that fact when he picked the Cards to finish 5th. :)

I know the history of Toledo plaing in Muncie all too well, but I really have to say that Ball State is in bad shape this year. This seems to be worse than all of those years that Toledo has lost to them in Muncie. Sadly, I think Ball State may be the UCF of 2005 and go winless this year.

For the Cardinal's sake and the MAC's sake I hope I am wrong and I hope they can bounce back soon, but things don't look that good in Muncie if you are on the outside looking in. Inside the program, maybe you guys can see hope for the future......I hope so at least.


Anyway, back to the reason for this post........at Muncie and homecoming doesn't really matter this year. The Rockets will get it done.

Unless you are bringing in the blind kicker and the officials who call 36 holding penalties in a row, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the "Curse of Muncie" to kick in this year. Even then, you better hope for a combination of food poisoning and mono to ravage the Rockets. EMU used to have our number at one time, too. That ended. This too shall pass.

Besides, it was a 3 way toss-up for last place, and I didn't want to put too much thought into who would finish last. Be happy you won something. It may be your last win until hoops starts back up. 03-razz
