I don't have a rivals subscription but saw these 2 new articles, anyone sumarize them? The Limpkins is a list of the top 100 Texas players and also a summary of QB Isiah Williams' visit to DeKalb...

Williams
<a href='http://www.chicagosports.rivals.com/noaccess.asp?SID=1042&script=/content.asp&CID=406939' target='_blank'>http://www.chicagosports.rivals.com/noacce....asp&CID=406939</a>

Limpkins
<a href='http://www.chicagosports.rivals.com/noaccess.asp?SID=1042&script=/content.asp&CID=406611' target='_blank'>http://www.chicagosports.rivals.com/noacce....asp&CID=406611</a>
In the Williams article, he says he was impressed with the intensity of the scrimmage and feels that NIU will have a good team again this year. Said he liked the coaches because they really seem to care about you as a person, not just an athlete. (He went up to Dekalb with the QB and WR from Morgan Park)

The Limpkins article is just a list where he is number 83.
Thank you Sir!

HEY LOOK EVERYBODY !!! ROB JUDSON HAS LANDED THE 83RD BEST PLAYER IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.

And to think that unless Quentin Lipkins has a miracle turnaround in the classroom the 83rd best player in the state of Texas won't even be coming to DeKalb. :crying:  :crying:
On the bright side, it's better than landing the 84th best player in Texas . . .

. . . unless of course the 84rd best player is a 6'10'' monster who can control the paint.

Texas will never be accused of being a hotbed of basketball talent. It is distinctly below Illinois in this regard. But hey, if the NIU brass is content to let Rob Judson galavant across the country looking for basketball talent the caliber of Quentin Lipkins 03-puke , then who am I to argue.

The whole situation with our men's basketball program is a total and utter joke. It is beyond comical at this stage. Rob Judson is a crook for accepting a paycheck from NIU.
Get serious Alum. Maybe Rob hasn't had the recruiting success everybody, including himself, had hoped for, but it wasn't for lack of effort on Rob's or his staff's part. You have no idea what Jud does or does not do. I'm not even a Judson fan, but I at least think people should be fair in their assessments of him.

You have made claims about others hiding behind a message board with comments, but you do the exact same thing on here with your uninformed posts.

You actually do not need to even post, because all your posts are predictable and a broken record.

Topic
Lipkins - Doesn't have the grades
Judson - Should be fired immediately
QB Next Yr - Positively Horvath
Facility - You know a big contributor
2004 Bowl - Will be in Boise

Come up with some new material
I'd consider the "pound sand" saying new material.... 03-wink
Hmm..

As someone who follows college basketball recruiting in great detail, I can in fact say that Texas is indeed a hotbed for high school basketball talent. Just take a look at all the top 100 lists from the past dozen years and a great percentage of those players will be from the Lonestar state. Getting the 83rd best player from Texas, while not outstanding, is not like getting the 83rd best player from anyother state.

The top 100 lists for the most part are dominated by players from Illinois, California, NY/NJ, and Texas... With recently the northwestern region (Washington) slowly starting to join the list.

Ryan Paradise was the 36th rated player in the state of Illinois two seasons ago. Nuff said regarding your argument.

If the great recruiter Rob Judson had landed a top 20 prospect within the state of Texas that would be one thing. What he did instead was abandon talent available in his own backyard to go after the 83rd best player in Texas, a player mind you that is not likely to qualify academically at NIU.

How an already underwater mid-major program can rationalize embracing a national recruiting stategy that nets a marginal 5'9" point guard with poor grades who plays 1,500 miles away is undefensible. If I'm a high school coach in the state of Illinois, I tell Rob Judson to pound sand the next time he calls.

Judson is a f***** abomination as head basketball coach at NIU. Period.

I get the feeling that you've got a thing for Rob Judson and you don't like me. Either way I could give a rip. If you don't like my views, then ignore them doorknob.

End o' subject

Booo HOOOOO
I am neither Pro-Judson nor Anti-Judson at this point so I can't be accused of being biased when it comes to Limpkins. I was simply refuting your comment that Texas was not a hotbed in high school basketball talent. That's it.

Texas is the 2nd most populous state in the nation, and its hoop talent is pretty darn good. One example of a talented player from Texas is Deron Williams of the Illini who hails from the Dallas area.

That being said, if Lipkins is only the 83rd best player in his state, that is not very good.

Actually texas produces some GREAT GREAT high school hoops players, only problem is in texas football is king and most of those guys play D1 football.
How about we wait and see how Lipkins performs before we judge how talented he is. According to Athlon Sports there were 10 of the top 100 seniors from TX and 33 of the top 300. This would qualify as a hotbed of basketball.

Is that why you missed the sarcasm of my post and took it as something literal to respond to?

03-lol True, true. Add to that, "I'm surrounded by morons."
