Since we are posting football schedules, here is EMU's. The opener was moved from Saturday to Thursday night. Don't know if there is any chance of this game being televised, but it would be nice to see EMU get some air time, although I am sure the game against Michigan will be televised.

From the official release:

EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES 2005 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
A return trip to Ford Field highlights the home portion of the schedule
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Eastern Michigan University Athletic Director Dave Diles has announced that EMU’s 2005 11-
game football schedule features four home games at Rynearson Stadium and an expected return trip to Ford Field in
Detroit.
The Eagles are set to open the 2005 season at the University of Cincinnati, Thursday night, Sept. 1, before hosting
the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Sept. 10. Second-year Head Coach Jeff Genyk’s crew travels to the
University of Michigan, Sept. 17, for the first-meeting between the two cross-county rivals since the 1998 season.
For the second consecutive season EMU will play host to a game at Ford Field, the home of the Detroit Lions. Unlike
2004’s doubleheader format, the expected game would be a single contest against Western Michigan University,
Nov. 5.
The remainder of the home slate will include visits from three Mid-American Conference foes. Kent State University
is scheduled for an Oct. 1 homecoming date followed by Rynearson Stadium visits from Miami University, Oct. 22,
and Ball State University, Nov. 12.
The Eagles will hit the road for league games at Central Michigan, Sept. 24, at Toledo, Oct. 8, at Northern Illinois,
Oct. 15, and at Buffalo, Nov. 19.
Five of the Eagles’ opponents appeared in bowl games in 2004: Cincinnati (Forth Worth), Michigan (Rose), Toledo
(Motor City), Northern Illinois (Silicon Valley), and Miami (Independence). Five of the 11 opponents had winning records
in 2004.

while cool that you have a "home" game at Ford Field, wouldn't it make more sense to have it at your stadium to try to increase local interest and get some people there?
Man, talk about a tough stretch ...

<a href='http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/mac/invision/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=20477' target='_blank'>I believe this thread answers your question.</a>
What was the fan balance like at the CMU-EMU game last year? Majority EMU fans, I'd imagine, or was it about evenly split?
It was hard to tell from the perspective of the stands, but I'd say it was about even. There were also some neutral fans left over from the preceeding Wayne State game, since one ticket was admission to both games.

Not even. I would say about a 65-35 split.

Well, considering our 10 year run of losing seasons and playing in the shadow of those SOBs in Ann Arbor, it is pretty tough to draw a lot of outside interest to games at Rynearson. However, a game at Ford Field gets played up and talked about in the media and generates more interest from people who want to experieince a game at Ford Field, one of the finest facilities in the nation. People go to this game who otherwise would never consider attending an EMU game.

When we start putting some winning seasons together, these types of things probably won't be necessary. But, truthfully, I enjoy having one game per year indoors at Ford Field and would not mind seeing it become a regular staple of EMU's annual football schedule.
Ford Field is a sweet place to watch a game! I've been there the last two years for the Motor City Bowl. A BGSU win and UT getting mauled. EMU has a large pull in the Detroit area, so it makes sense.

I would have to say because the locals in Detroit will show up to see the game and help EMU's attendance, which needs a definite boost........especially if an attendance rule is in effect this fall.
No, lots of EMU students and Alumni live in the Detroit area. They drew some 24,000 against CMU last year. I suspect they are trying to get this to be a permanent arrangement. Plus, it eliminates the possible bad weather outside.
An annual game during the first saturday in November at Ford Field is a great way to build attendance, and it also solves the weather problem that has played havoc, ( Miami's at home game where fans had to leave the stadium because of thunder & lightning comes to mind ) and damaged attendance figures throught the MAC. Kudos to EMU. Rutgers played many "home games" at Giants Stadium during the 1980's & 90's, and it helped to build their fan base at Rutgers Stadium. Again I say good progressive thinking on the part of EMU. Bowling Green where the attendance is not as good as it should be, will get an attendance boost in 2006 when they play Wisconsin in Cleveland. I also think that Ball State should consider playing a late season "home game" at the RCA dome in Indianapolis, it would give a boost to their average which fell below 15,000 last season.
I expect a colossal upset by the Eagles at The Big House this year.

I plan to attend that game this year. I have degrees from both schools, but it looks like a romp for the Wolverines. I say a score of 56 to 7!

i'll be there too at that game along with 6 others in the Big House.
Poor EMU, the game vs. Michigan will be a blowout from the get-go. :(
It is just a big money game for EMU.Get $450,000 and only have to travel up the road 7miles.
