Well, looks like we got excited for nothing. The Ohio-Duke game is off now. But, it does look like we will be starting a 2-game series with Cincinnati. We would play in Cincinnati next year then in Gund Arena the following year.

do both schools realize that they're nowhere near Cleveland?
It sounds like the Rock 'N Roll Shoot or something like that is coming back. Even if it's not, the game at the Gund isn't a bad idea. OU has a ton of Cleveland area alum, and I'm UC has a decent amount, plus local bandwagoners.
I am an Ohio alumn in Lake County. I would love a quick drive to the Gund to see the Bobcats battle UC. Cleveland is MAC turf. Ohio may be the ranked team in that one with Fears and Williams being upperclassman with lots of experience. Nobody will want anypart of the Bobcats in Athens the next three years. I give UC and Huggins credit for playing Ohio. Now lets see if the Buckeyes have the guts to play the Bobcats. That would sell out in Columbus or Athens. Duke would have been nice, but lets save them for the elite 8 or final four. Kentucky should be a much more competitive matchup for Ohio. Getting UC and Ohio State on a regular basis would get Ohio basketball up to where Xavier, Miami, and Dayton have been for years. Bobcats need to take advantage of this window make a run at Xavier and Dayton as the top tier of hoops in the state. Kent State has been right there during their run; however, Xavier and Dayton slipped a bit last year. UC in the Big East will be a huge rpi game for Ohio. Having the game in Cleveland also counts as a road/neutral win for the ncaa selection squad. I hope our MAC brotheren from Akron and Kent could stop by the Gund and help show UC that Cleveland is MAC turf. I hope Ohio State would play Akron or Kent State at the Gund. That would be great matchup.

The MAC has "turf" now?

I thought that the MAC was Big Ten/Big East territory?

Don't get me wrong, the MAC deserves "turf." My room at UM was MAC "turf," as was my room at OSU. And there will be some MAC "turf" in Albuquerque in a little over a week. But I wasn't aware of any major metropolitan areas that were under MAC control.

Kickass! Go MAC!
Anytime you can schedule a UC or tOAMU as a MAC school I think it is a good idea whether it's a road game, a 2 for 1 or a neutral site and road game. Adding better teams to OHIO's schedule is key in the next 2-3 years and now the focus will have to be on WINNING those games to help represent the MAC on a ntional stage and give the conference a better chance at multiple bids.

Maybe you'll get Duke in the NCAA tourney.

No way MAC is on BE turf. No one cares about ND basketball, and UC and DePaul aren't going to MAC midwesterns turn into the 'Cuse/Nova matchup on Big Monday. I consider the home of the MAC tourney to be MAC turf.
