pretty cool seeing a Toledo college/ hospital is making such huge news....
This was big news for the institution....I'm just a little baffled that they didn't reference it as Medical University of Ohio. That's our new name!

Considering that MCO doesn't have athletics, this is one of the major ways the institution gets attention (and grant money!).

BTW - this is sign of things to come...there are some amazing practices being done right here in Toledo. Great publicity for the city!
So, umm... would someone mind actually telling us *what* this major news actually is?

Transplant research and a way to track people down all over the US based on different types of things related to what the needs of the specific person. It was about a 1/2 hour special....
They've come up with a software program to match potential kidney transplant patients together. Instead of just one-for-one, they find a person in need who has a relative (or some tie-in) who's willing to trade with pretty much a stranger - this instance involved four people. Sometimes blood relatives can't donate because they're not exact matches - but....they may be a potential (perfect) match for a stranger and vice-versa. It's a better way to match if there isn't a direct swap.

An interesting concept and it's already saving lives as well as proving to be worthwhile. It really caught Aaron Brown (CNN) as a suprise and all he could say is "WOW".
