It's a start. Will it be online?
That fact was mentioned in the tribune, I think that says more then it actually happenening. I for once can't complain about our trib coverage this week.
Does the signal reach east of either Peace or County Line Road?
Will I need to string an antenaee from my house to a neighbor's tree and back again for my crystal set to capture the signal?

just kidding. ...It's a start like GMarconi's start was followed by the transistor more than 50 years later.

Why not? At least this time you'll have an excuse for staring into your neighbor's bedroom window.
Here's the daytime range of <a href='http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WLBK&service=AM&status=L&hours=D' target='_blank'>WLBK's signal</a>

Make of that what you will. Good news that its on the air at all though.
Very cool web resource DTracks.....
Ah, WLBK, my alma-mater from the early 90s -sometimes I could pick it up when hiking in the Mississippi Palisades, and almost to Galena in the northwest. Getting into the inner-ring suburbs of Chicago, the signal gets a bit shaky though.

P.S. One time I didn't power the station down from 1000 watts to 24 watts at night like we were supposed to; people were hearing DeKalb high school baseketball in a much bigger range than that map!
