I think that bodes well for the MAC.

With a good showing by 3 teams, I can see those folks vying for midwest fans to travel to SD.
I dont think it will make any dif to the mac... Espn will lock up the bowl.. they have a new deal with Navy and Army in which they will be considered first.. for espn bowl open spots.... Army unlikely to be eligible.. but navy is likely.... My guess is they look at acadamys first... cusa and wac next.. than Mac.... unless your #3 team is very good.
So right now the MWC has 3 bowl tie-ins, the WAC and MAC have 2 bowl tie-ins, and the SBC has 1 bowl tie-in.........yet C-USA has 5 bowl tie-ins?????? I don't understand how C-USA gets so many bowl tie-ins compared to everyone else. Even the Big East has only 3 or 4 bowl tie-ins right now.

They are geographically better situated, they've historically had more tournament money to throw around propping up bowl games, and historically they've been a bit better than the WAC or MAC.

Give it a few years. Two of those advantages are about to evaporate.

I think you're right about the academies...but Navy always does well in SD, so that doesn't bother me.

The WAC may be next...but they'll need a team to show. They usually have 3 decent teams, but Hawaii doesn't travel, and most folks hate them anyway.

CUSA next? No way. Not the new CUSA...and not w/ their current tie-ins.

That leaves the MAC. And if Navy has gone elsewhere (or is inelgible) then I'm happy to see MAC v WAC. The bigger problem is seeing some 6-5 (6-6? ) ACC team go. That's what kills bowls. :snore:
