According to browns.scout.com, the Browns have signed the following free agents from the MAC:

Larry Burt, DT, Miami (Ohio)
According to a report in the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Browns have signed the Miami defensive tackle to a try-out contract.

Joshua Cribbs, QB, Kent State
The exciting KSU Golden Flash will probably shift over to wide receiver with the Browns, despite an offer from Washington to play quarterback.

Kevin Carberry, DE, Ohio
The Bobcat defensive end will try to get a role in Cleveland, according to newspaper reports out of Athens.

Eric Mahl, LB, Kent State
Bernie's Insiders as first to report that the Browns have signed the KSU Golden Flash linebacker

Lance Moore, WR, Toledo
After breaking a slew of receiving records for the Rockets, the Academic All-American will get a shot with the Browns. He was also first-team All-MAC.

Matt Pusateri, SS, Miami (Ohio)
An over-achieving defensive back who doesn't impress with his measurables, but shines on the field.

Also signed 2 other (state of) Ohio players ...

Clint Stickdorn, OT, Cincinnati
According to the Cincinnati Post, the Browns have signed big (6-6,327) offensive tackle to a rookie free agent deal.

Simon Fraser, DE, Ohio State
Numerous sources are reporting that the well-regarded Buckeyes defensive end has agreed to a rookie free agent contract with the Browns.
Anyone who has seen Cribbs play has got to give him a shot as a kick returner at the very least. I have no idea if he can play wideout in the NFL or not. I doubt seriously that he will play any QB.
Frye passing to Cribbs...seems surreal. :pom:

No way Cribbs makes it in the NFL as a QB, but anyone who has seen the kid on the field knows that he has the athleticism to have a shot at another position.

So, we get blamed when they still suck AND have hideous colors?
Where do I get my Cribbs' jersey? One of the best Flashes of all time is now a Brown!!!!! A good day for me! He will be the Brown's equivalent of Pittspukes Randle-El. He can catch, take the ball on a reverse out of the backfield, line up in the back field, return kick-offs. He will be a weapon if the Browns use him right. 04-rock
Cribbs and Fraser are good signings. I'm always curious to see how these folks do.
Lionell Hickenbottom from NIU has a tryout with the Browns.
CMU's James King has also signed with the Browns.
I've always thought the NFL teams near the MAC schools would eventually take advantage of the "hidden gems" in the conference. It's good to see the Browns taking advantage of what the MAC produces!

Yeah it is surreal...having watched both of them over their careers, and being a Browns follower, I couldn't be happier. I think Cribbs has a chance to make this team, but NFL Europe may be first.

You want to talk really surreal, though....How about Torch saying something positive about a Buckeye?

Unfortunately, I have to root for the Bengals to crush both of them. :D
Nice to see, but I'll tell you that Frazier is a player!!!
I'm a diehard Browns fan, but the "experts" are saying that every team in the AFC North had a solid draft. And I agree w/BSUalum - I've always thought the Ohio teams (and Steelers for that matter) should take more advantage of the MAC.

Perhaps Big Ben's rookie success has opened a few more NFL GM's eyes as to the possibilities?

You'd think they'd have gone heavier on the BG kids so the transition would have been easier.

No doubt. Can you imagine how hard it will be for Lance Moore to pull those colors on for the first time? I'll bet he breaks out into a serious rash.

There's a large contingent of Zips/Steelers fans in the Akron area that are pretty bummed he went to the Browns.

Me...I have to root for the Vikings to crush them both! 04-rock

I see him grinning from ear-to-ear and giddy as hell with excitement...heck the colors could be purple or pink and I don't think he would mind.

Yeah, but the rash will be annoying, I'm sure.
