Marshall fan: "Yeah, let's kick those Kent Staters out of the conference....they bring nuthn' to the table".
Kent State Fan: "Uh, well, you're not really in the MAC anymore, except for the final tally to verify that your men's sports teams finish last in the MAC all sports trophy race this year".
Marshall fan:"Oh yeah, well who cares anyway.....our football team finished.....uh....well.....3rd in our division this year. And who cares about baseball, golf and hoops anywho".
Kent State fan: sigh
UT freshman Justin Hall had a hole in one yesterday. Unfortunately we haven't played well in this tournament, but then again we haven't been quite as good this year. Our future does look bright though. We should be better the next couple of years again.
That -26 total looks pretty doggone impressive. Congrats to the Flashes.
Looks like the Herdiban are trying to nail down last place to insure finishing last in the men's all sports trophy race, but my own RedHawks seem to be lurking around that last place spot in golf themselves! :(

Thank you may I have another! 03-nutkick
And on it goes: 11 MAC championships in the last 14 years.

Quote:Wiegand earned MAC Freshman of the Year honors – the fourth straight season a KSU golfer has won the honor.

Wiegand shot a career-low 8-under 64 in the final round to tie Yip, who needed birdie at the par-5 18th hole to catch Wiegand at 11-under 277. Yip shot a 1-under 71 today. Wiegand improved in each round, shooting 72-71-70-64, while Yip carded rounds of 63-72-71-71.

Yip and Wiegand missed the all-time scoring record of 274, set by KSU’s Ben Curtis in 2000, by three shots.

Yip’s 9-under 63 in the first round tied the record first set by Marshall’s Linden Meade in 1958, and equaled by Brett Fulford of Bowling Green in 1992 and Miami’s Jeff Ritchey in 2000. It is the low round of Yip’s career at Kent State.

Wonderful news Axe !!! I'm playing Windmill Lakes tomorrow. I'll tip my hat to Herb and the golf team.

I think the current golf champ should host the NCAA BBS MAC Golf Outing. B)

Also, we need a golf icon, you know, until hoops starts again. 03-wink
Looks like we (Miami) edged out the Herd for last place! :( Yikes!
