• Freshman Luke Alexander, who graduated from high school early to enroll at Bowling Green in January, hauled in five passes for 108 yards and two scores in the spring game.

• At Eastern Michigan, former QB Ken Bohnet is being looked at as a tight end. The 6-3, 219-pound sophomore played quarterback as a freshman in 2003 and backed up his brother Matt at the spot last season.

• With only two running backs available in the Miami (Ohio) spring game, three quarterbacks, paced by senior Josh Betts, combined for 491 passing yards. Betts completed nine of 16 for 198 yards and two TDs.

• In coach Frank Solich's first spring game, Ohio's defense posted eight sacks and DE Seth Ream broke up four passes.

• New Western Michigan coach Bill Cubit watched his son, Ryan, pass for 314 yards and a TD in the spring game.
