Congrats, Miami...and thanks for completing the Hurd Farewell Tour in style. 04-rock

Congrats!
Congrats Miami. Good luck in the NCAA's!
Miami begins play in the NCAA regionals in Knoxville, TN, opening against SEC Champs Tennessee.
Having been at the tournament, I can say that Miami played tremendous softball over the course of the past 4 games. They looked like a team that really came into their own and it showed all week. Sometimes a team gets it together and makes a magical run and that is what the RedHawks did. Great pitching, great defense, and timely hitting wins you championships. Poggendorff was a joy to watch (although I hated watching her beat my team) because she always has a glowing smile on her face and genuinely enjoys playing the game. It's refreshing to see that.

Good luck against Monica Abbott and Tennessee...they're an excellant team...but they're beatable.

Thanks for the perspective from the stands at Firestone!
Congrats to the Redhawks Ladies.
Well done.
Hearty congrats to Coach Angie Jacobs! She took over a team that was pretty much at rock-bottom when she arrived Oxford and has turned it around completely.

Oh I had a front row seat for it...I did color commentary of the championship game on the Marshall student station. Believe me, nothing but good things to say about the Redhawks.

In fact, Courtney Salmon's room was adjacent to mine in the hotel, and Poggendorff was either with her or across the hall and one door down from me. It was a great tournament.

Jackie's smile could light up a dark alley...I just really love watching players who enjoy playing the game. Marshall has some girls like that as well who just completely enjoy doing what they do and it shows. That is one positive girls sports have over guys sports...the players aren't too caught up in themselves to have fun. Seeing Miami do the chicken dance as a team during a rain delay, the Western Michigan team singing "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", and the Marshall team diving headfirst on top of the wet tarp...it doesn't get much better than that.
