What you've done throughout the years in accolades doesn't matter.

I've looked it up, WKU has been ranked like twice in the last 20 years. That is a little more reflective of the kind of program we are dealing with.....a program that once in a while can make a sweet 16.

The only thing that counts to recruits is what a program has done in the last 5-10 years. And WKU has a couple seasons where it would have contended for a MAC championship....but not every year like what WKU thinks. Do you honestly think you would of won the MAC this year? That team you had this year would have been a .500 MAC team.
You can't dance around the question Kit-Cat. WKU has 19 NCAA appearances and 13 NIT appearances. How many appearances does Ohio and Marshall have combined?

And, WKU will be soon putting $30 million into their stadium. Then when then compared with WKU's, Marshall's will look like the dump.

Right now Marshall's stadium takes a back seat to Western Michigan's, and Toledo's stadium. When renovations are complete at Miami, BGSU, and WKU, Marshall would be no better than 6th in the MAC.

That's hilarious. I wonder if this is the return of B!G Bastard? They appear to be fed well down there though...look at the whole front line==>jeepers. What's with the kid flashing his gang sign? The west side of Bowling Green (north) must be a pretty rough place.

Anyway, I think Schad has proven his point. I'd be intimidated to play there also. It has an "eat or be eaten" or "shoot or be shot" look to it.

==> West siiiiideeee!

I'm sorry but you don't know who has the top stadiums in this league.

Ohio's Peden stadium is nicer than Yeager and Doyt now, and will continue to be so after the renovations.

Marshall has a 38k stadium with plans for 55k. WKU has a one sided bucket of concrete.......even with a 30 million dollar renovation to add another side to the stadium, its going to be below average by MAC standards when done.

I would put Marshall's stadium above anything in the MAC, Then Toledo's and Peden. WMU is solid but lacks style.

BG probably has the worst stadium in the MAC, outside of Ball State but Ball State is making more extensive improvements that will push them past BG.
Edited for uncalled for post. I hope not too many read it.

Sorry Kit-Cat.

Kit-Cat, when it comes to MAC Football Stadiums, you just don't know your a$$ from a hole in the ground.

Regarding basketball WKU has 19 NCAA appearances and 13 NIT appearances.

How many NCAA and NIT appearances does Ohio and Marshall have? No answer again? We all know why you don't want to answer.

I just request that the rest of you quit quoting it, so I don't accidently read any of its drivel.

An early welcome to WKU and hopes that the invitation process is not too long, drawn out, or filled with posts by Kit-Cat.

Of course, we could always just trade OhioU for WKU straight up - then it would be a more competitive school mix without bloating the size of the conference.  Better yet - could we just trade Kit-Cat?
You are right this ignore button would be great on Haven!(WKU Board)

Not about any one poster just I like the ignore button, sorry.

No, we can't trade OU because it belongs in the MAC and besides it is one of my favorite schools. We could trade Kit-Cat as suggested but who would want someone as delusional as him?

The best thing to do is ignore his rants as suggested.

Truman, I hope you don't think that Kit-Cat represents Ohio University because if you do you will have a false perception of what the school is like. Not to sound like Kit-Kat but OU really is a great school. However, I can't explain what happened to Kit-Kat. He is actually the only OU alum on this board with "issues."

The reason I'm not answering your question is because I don't know where to find the data......If I had to guess I would say between Marshall and Ohio they have 15-18 NCAA appearances.

How about this question? Who has more NCAA appearances Ohio or WMU, CMU, and EMU combined? My bet would be Ohio.

And another bet I would make is you haven't ever been to Ohio for a football game, and if you have it was long before the renovations at OU's stadium.

Do you realize in basketball OU......

1.Has the top 20 all time crowds

2.Won the preseason NIT in 1994, and a former NIT runner up

3.The major victories this program has had in the last 10 years reads like a who's who of college basketball. Uconn, Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio State.....many others.

4.Kenutcky refuses to play WKU. We have Kentucky on OU's schedule next year on a neutral court. We've had Kentucky play in Athens just a few years ago.

5.We've beaten Kentucky and Louisville in the same NCAA tournament.

In WKU's heyday they were more prolific than OU ever was in its heyday but for all intents and purposes OU has been just as good over the last 15 years as WKU, and in everyone's eyes the same level of program.

Kentucky knows we have a loaded team next year, but signed a deal to play us anyway. We play schedules and scheduling respect beyond every school in the MAC, short of maybe Miami.

Yes I do have issues.

I have a big issue with "Billy Bobs" that populate this board. They've never been to OU for anything. They've never been anywhere except the tri-state area of Michigan, Indiana....and vacation in Kentucky.

And their trying to tell me that OU has never done anything in basketball and is the most pathetic program in the MAC. Time and time again I have to justify my program on here with all the straight ignorance that populates the board. I know It sounds boastful, but time and time again they doubt OU accomplishments when it comes to crowds, facilities or play.

The Convo is the biggest, most legendary hoops facility in the MAC.

Peden is the oldest most architecturally impressive football facility in the MAC. Its the Wrigley field of football stadiums.

I don't call putting a George Jetson space mobile in your end zone as a classy move. I'm sorry.
Not at all, no one would ever go to any school if they judged the university by what is posted by a minority on a message board. We have our fans with"issues". One on Haven actually believes we spend time worrying about him. The funny thing about these guys is this, they ruin otherwise interesting thoughts with their eccentric obbsessing on certain issues. One of "ours" insists on using degrading terms in reference to the Sunbelt just because he doesn't like the member institutions. We also have some that will hurl insults at our coach and players.

But the point is we all have a few fans we wish wouldn't attach there comments to the rest of us. Thats why I like this ignore button, so I don't feel obliged to follow after some posters and make apology for ill advised statements.

I am now finished with this thread. I expect I will be more reader than poster for a while unless I don't understand something. As I have said I am fan not an expert so just take my comments as coming from a very loyal Hilltopper! :)

Wonder if the basketball deal has more to do with the football deal? Sometimes basketball games are thrown in with football deals. Being in KY, and knowing how Tubby schedules, I can't imagine him just volunteering to play any "mid-major" that could beat him. Either their is a connection of some sort, or the deal was arranged through the Athletics Department office, maybe as a package with football. Just speculation.

We play Kentucky about every third year and usually on a neutral site.

We did lay a whipping on them in football, its time to do it in basketball.

And as I've told the billy bobs on here again and again we aren't lightly regarded as a program.

Ridiculous.

Wrong again! I personally have visited Harvard, Yale, University of Chicago, Boston College, William & Mary, University of Florida, and obviously Vanderbilt along with many other colleges and universities. Furthermore, I have also been to Ohio University many times. As I said before, OU is one of my favorite schools. However, it is not the University of Virginia or the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and never will be because its endowment is not comparable to the other two universities.

Just accept the fact that OU is a very good university with a beautiful campus.

Just for the record, I have also traveled extensively throughout Europe and visited Japan. As far as the U.S., I have been to about every state east of the Mississippi River.

Suffice it to say my travels have extended beyond Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Kent State, Akron and Eastern Michigan for starters.

UB Stadium has nice bells and whistles, but our sightlines are better.

I've never been to Peden. Based on the pictures, I'm not sure what the hype is about.

Peden, while not even close to being the palace some say it is, is very nice. The Rubber Bowl, although decrepit, has style. I know it gets maligned a lot, but it is one of my favoites. Eastern has one of the best stadiums in the conference. It may be empty, but it is very nice. I have never done more than drive by Kent, so I can't say if they're worse than BG's, but I would put all three of the other ones ahead of it. Doyt Perry is an incredibly ugly, style-less structure, located on an ugly piece of land. Who knows? Maybe adding the spaceship will help, particularly if they address the surrounding area, but it will never be the jewel that some BG fans imagine it to be.
Most people, when they say Perry Stadium is ugly, are confusing architecture with the ****** kickings we routinely deliver there.
Really? 'Cause I think it's ugly and Miami hasn't lost up there since 1997.

If I thought anyone paid attention to you, I might be upset -- largely because the resulting devaluation of my brother's degree would make him more likely to borrow money from me.

As it stands, you remain a brain-dead nuisance, shunned by your own kind. And Peden, while a nice facility, is still the only MAC football stadium built in a natural flood plain.

Why don't you tell us again about that fabulous engineering program in Athens?

Best personal regards,
Billy Bob
