Thanks RF.

"The Schedule: Oregon is good, but the week two road trip to Eugene has to be a win if Fresno State wants to believe it belongs among the big boys. Toledo is dangerous, but Bruce Gradkowski and the boys come to Fresno. There's no one else who should touch the Bulldogs until the Boise State/USC two-game stretch. Anything worse than 9-2 with this slate is unacceptable."

Yikes....I didn't realize that these guys play at USC. Yeah...um......good luck with that one.
Well... I think the fact that UT is playing on the road scares me, cause Toledo does not have a great road game record... But, I really think UT has a shot at this game... especially now that we have a defensive coordinator who seems motivated...
I could see Fresno blowing us out or Toledo making this an interesting game.
Have we won a big non-con game on the road since PSU? I can't think of one. I think we won at Navy a few years back. On one hand that was a "notable" win, OTOH they were pretty bad for a few years there.

I'll bet Fresno will be as intimidating a place to play as anywhere. We'll have a couple tune up games under our belt, but so will they. If we end up with awesome WR's and a good safety it could be a game. It sounds like we're going to need a very good team to win there.
Since the Penn State game, Toledo is 2-6 against non-conference opponents on the road. Conversely, Toledo is 9-0 versus non-conference opponents at home. Including the Penn State game, Toledo is 12-6 against non conference opponents since 2000. Toledo could use a significant road win and this would be a big one. The Rockets have a chance, but if UT wins I'd have to say the team is better than I think it is. Maybe I'll get a nice suprise out there. BTW who else is going to the game?
This would be a bigger win than Penn State, maybe not as nationally recognized. This is Pat Hill's best team better than last years that #18 Virginia in the bowl game.Combine that with 40,000 screaming BullDawg fans, this is a tough one for the Rockets.
I think our chances are very good, basically better than any chance we have had in the past, for one reason. West is gone!!! In order to win on the road, a football team needs to have their defense step up and play... They need to keep UT in the game until Bruce can get the O playing with confidence... This is not going to be an easy contest for Toledo, but now with a new coordinator, I like our chances... now, having said that... it is going to be interesting to see what our O will look like this year... we have a lot of good solid players, but there were some gaps that needed to be filled... I think in the end, it is going to be Toledo 35 - FSU 28
