Here late, today. I just got back from Meridian. Tell me I was missed! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Marine, reporting for duty. <img border="0" alt="[flag]" title="" src="graemlins/flag.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />
Here - belatedly. Just in from the hometown in the wet, windy Ark delta.
How bad did y'all get it, LR? Or are you still getting some of Lili? We, here in Jackson, got really lucky, nothing more than a little heavy rain and mediocre winds, yet a lot of rain.
About the same here. Maybe more rain overnite into Fri morning. Not bad tho. Was weird having the wind from the east.

Howbout my Cards? 2 and 0 going back to STL... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Drinky]" title="" src="graemlins/drinky.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />
Cards are rolling, and Wiz and I saw that the Braves got it back on track tonight!
The Cards have this series wrapped. They are past Schilling and Johnson. Looks like they can focus now on either the Braves or the Giants. I think it will be a Braves/Cards NLCS. I seem to recall the Cards having us down three games to one the last time it happened... <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/angel.gif" />

I'm pulling for the Cardinals...everybody in the South pulled for the Cardinals when I was a kid. Of course they were about the only Southern (location) team in existence at that time.

One of my sons and I love the Dodgers but my other kids and my wife love the Braves. Sorry, fellows...I guess it stems from the old days when they were in the same division. When the Dodgers were really good, they used to beat the crap out of the Braves - no contest - sorta like we used to do MS State. Needless to say, I haven't had a lot to crow about the last 10-12 years. "Wait until next year!" Don't you remember when all the State fans used to say that - EVERY YEAR!
I'd forgotten that wacky setup where LA and ATL were in same division! I bet the travel costs were hellish for some teams under the old setup.

I've always wondered why they moved the Brewers from AL to NL, leaving an unbalanced divisional lineup? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />
I was at the game in 1991 when the Braves clinched the NL West title...yes...the West! I'll never forget that day because we had been so bad for so long. We beat the Astros that day and when our game ended, the Giants/Dodgers game was in the ninth inning with 1 out. They put the end of that game up on the jumbotron at the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. When the Giants made the final out and beat the Dodgers, they flashed "Atlanta Braves - 1991 NL West Champions" up on the matrix board. I've never felt anything like it.

The 16/14 split keeps everyone playing. If there were 15 teams in each league, either one team in each league would be off every day, or we'd have interleague games throughout the year. They were deadset on putting TB in the AL, so I guess the Brewers were the best fit for the NL.
Thanks, Cossell! <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

Thanks for the fyi on that - I'd never thought about it that way, that's exactly right. Yeah, the Brewers make a good NL team, they represent an old NL city (Braves) and make a good natural rival for the Cubs and all. But, boy, are they ever bad this year!! <img border="0" alt="[Bow]" title="" src="graemlins/bow.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />
