If what has been mentioned on these boards is true(which I think likely is), a Star writer is wrong AGAIN. The Michigan game won't be a national game but will be seen regionally. I think that if these articles are going to make it past the local Star, they had better start getting the facts straight BEFORE writing it. I hate to bash these kids but they should get the facts before posting a story in the paper. It is this kind of thing that is hurting the media's image. Sorry for my off topic rant.
All of the ABC Regional telecasts are also picked up on ESPN GamePlan (and can be picked up by any ABC affiliate around the country, if the local station so chooses -- for example, expect several stations in Florida to pick this one up), hence, they typically count as "national television" appearances.
ESPN Gameplan aside- what truly national outlets are there for games?

There's ND on NBC, and ESPN, ESPN2 games are usually national aren't they? Is the SEC deal with CBS national or do they carry regional?
I could be wrong, but I think that the Noon Miami/OSU game is a regional/Gameplan coverage while Michigan/NIU is a national/Gameplan coverage game.

Cable networks are a different ball o' wax, but as far as the broadcast networks go, those games are considered national because they are *offered* to all their affiliates nationally. Many of the ND games are pre-empted by NBC affiliates in Southern markets in favor of regional SEC/ACC telecasts. And I know the Chicago CBS affiliate occasionally will bump the "national" SEC game of the week in favor of a regional Not-So-Big-Ten matchup (WBBM in Chicago, a CBS station, is one of the local ESPN-Plus affiliates here)...
NIU fans!

Both NIU and EMU play UM this fall as we all know.

I just called the EMU ticket office to find out when they would be mailing season tickets. They said they would immediately but are awaiting arrival tickets from UM for the EMU v UM game. (We are also waiting on the tickets for the EMU v WMU game at Ford Field).

So, NIU fans, have you gotten your tickets yet for the UM game? I mean more the just ordered them, but actually tickets in hand or in the hands of NIU?

Forgive for barging in on this thread, but I saw it was NIU oriented and felt my question was not worthy of a new thread by itself.

Thanks!

None of the NIU fans have their tickets in hands. We usually don't get our season tickets for a few more weeks, at least the last few years since I have picked up season tickets it has been that way. I will blame UM this year instead of NIU though, thanks.
Seeds99,

Thanks. The EMU ticket office said they hope to send out tickets around the first of August. I hope so because that September 1 game at Cincy is not THAT far away.

Thanks and good luck against UM. I know I will be rooting hard for NIU that day. (I root for ALL MAC schools when playing OOC.)
