Just a little interesting tidbit I found...

I found a list online of teams prestige in terms of their football program and academically.

Out of a possible six stars, NIU was given 3 stars for the football program and 3 stars for academics.

And on a side note, Toledo was given 3 stars in terms of their football program, yet only 2 STARS in regards to ACADEMICS!

Illinois has 3 stars for program prestige and 5 stars for academics. Seems about right to me...

Garrett Wolfe is also the 8th best overall RB in the game...

Impact Players
3rd # is Overall Rating
HB #1 92
SS #48 89
WR #84 84
Omar Jacobs is also the 2nd highest overall QB and arguable the best since he is ridiculously faster/more agile than Leinhart.

Gradkowski is ranked 6th.

That's a joke. Marshall is a 3 for academics and Ohio State is a 4 for academics.

What do you think Ohio State should be??? You may hate them but from an unbiased view, I'd say it should be a 5 academically.

Marshall being a 3 is a joke though... They should be a 2 (maybe even a 1, but then again, there are no 1's).

The school in general should be a 4, but the football team should not be. They have had incidents in the past where players basically passed classes when they shouldn't have. And of course there was the Maurice Clarett thing and he actually was put into classes with teachers that favored athletes.

And Miami is a 2 for football?
Academically: Airforce and army are 5?
Am I missing something?
Seems like the composer of this list has never been to a MAC school or the military.
It is nice to see NIU on the same level as UI footballwise. Obviously prestige and on the field football performance of the past 2 years do not correlate.
What does it take to be a 4? Surely atleast 1 MAC school deserves a 4 rateing?
NIU has always had a 2 star prestige rating in this game before the newest version. A bowl win in 2005 in the game will most likely push it to a 4.
Hey Trav where did you find all of this? (specifically the player ratings?)

I have heard that Ohio State does not have an admissions cut-off, and that the only requirement for entrance is that you graduated from high school. One of the reasons why the undergrad population at OSU is amongst the largest of any university in the nation. Maybe someone familiar with Ohio State can validate this.

I see what you're saying. Haha yeah I see what you mean. However, the game bases the academic prestige on the school as a whole, not the football players. If this were true, we know that some of the best schools in the nation would have low prestige due to the lack good students on their teams.

then search NCAA Football then click on message board. Lot's of useful stuff if you can filter through all the spam brought on by 12 and 13 year old boys.
In regards to Ohio State, I don't think they necessarily rank all that high, in the real world, academically. I know most folks wouldn't notice, but I think it's a real shame that Buffalo's academics aren't higher.
