Where the heck is Elburn? The Herald's sport writer seems miffed that the deal was successfully completed.

<a href='http://www.elburnherald.com/outfile05/out24.htm' target='_blank'>Temple and the MAC</a>
another brain dead reporter from where? Elburn?

IF Temple wins the MAC in 5 years it will NOT be a black mark on the MAC.

Anyone who knows FB would know that whomever beats BG, UT, NIU, Miami, etc. for the MAC championship IS a good team.

I don't care if it is BSU, EMU or Temple.

They (BG, UT, NIU, and Miami) are proven teams and the country knows it.

IF Temple wins the MAC the big story will be a head coach moving to a BCS conference and getting a huge pay raise.

P.S. memories are short in sports. In 5 years some might forget that TU was bad. Wasn't NIU bad 5 years ago? (yep, but it seems like an eternity, ancient history).
Editing the URL to get to the home page reveals that Elburn is a suburb of Chicago...

What a dick.

First off....we won't. Not for a while....if ever.

What's his point? Our football program should fold it up or go D1AA? I think he's networking to land a job with the like-minded, vaccuum-brained douchebags at Philly Pro $portS Media, Inc.

I e-mailed this fellow, and pointed out a few thoughts, and in a second e-mail I mentioned that a better article might be a story about why the state of Illinois doesn't allow a game in Soldier Field between Ill. U. & NIU?
u of i would probably never agree to another game with us because they'd rather not embarrass themselves and the big 10.
NIU and ND at Soldier Field would be a good one.
Is Andy Tavegia a nom de plume for Oddball? I swear he coulda wrote this piece :D

It is small town(but growing fast) about halfway between DeKalb and St Charles(pretty much a far west suburb). I really have no idea how you even found that. It is a tiny newspaper nobody reads.

On their home page they show a small map (upper left hand corner, I think) showing a dot where Elburn would be...no mystery.
Not a bad piece. :D

If I thought it was still worth talking about, I'd agree. As it is, though, this subject will only be worth revisiting whenever the "Chryst is God" brigade gets all googly-eyed over something new their Lord and Savior does, and declares his omniscience from the rooftops. :D

Is that like Great googly moogly? And what exactly IS a googly? Or a moogly, for that matter?

I know Googly.
I've on occasion been Googly.
Googly is an occasional optical state of mine.
But, Sir, Googly is no Moogly.
