Temescal Canyon graduate Maurice Clark decided this week to accept a full-ride scholarship to play football at Temple University starting in fall.

Clark will join the Owls' squad as a wide receiver and will take his first visit to the Philadelphia campus next week.

"They had the most interest in me and I was really comfortable with them," Clark said about his decision. "It's going to be a good opportunity."

In playing for Temple, Clark will also have the opportunity to run on the same turf as the Philadelphia Eagles ---- at Lincoln Financial Field. The Owls also have a televised game scheduled for September 10, when they play at Wisconsin. It will be on ESPNU at 12 noon.

Temple's football program just joined the East Division of the Mid-American Conference, and the Owls also hired on a new wide receiver coach in Dennis Goldman this spring.

"(Goldman) is a nice guy and he has a lot of experience," Clark said of the former Syracuse coach who has 34 years of coaching under his belt.

The Owls have only one game in the West, their season-opener at Arizona State.

"It's going to be fun," Clark said. "It will be difficult at first (going to the East Coast) but I'm looking forward to it."

 Wow, he never visited the school before deciding?
I could not find anything on this kid on Rivals or scout. Can i get the link to the article? Do you also know what other schools were involved, if any?

Stats and comments from Victory Engineer look good. I am also suprised that he would sign before visiting the campus.

Vic Engineer is hyping these players but I wonder who else offered.

I wonder if VE ever plays dynasty mode on EA NCAAFB. If so, I'd be curious to see if his strategy is to exclusively recruit 1 star players...
I do play NCAA football... and am the temple rep in the MAC league online.

"Awesome"

I do believe these guys are actually no star recruits, if you went by a guide, and are often not offered a scholorship anywhere. AT least not a full one... But i do think this is where temple often finds its best players... And must still recruit...

I simply am posting articles and quotes... very little personal opinion... I could not handle the wrath of the leaders in this jail we call Temple Football.
I know you're signed up to represent the TUFB family. Kick some a**. At least, avenge the BGSU thumping ! Its about respek..........
THATS HOT!
UPDATE- I GUESS THAT SOLVES THAT QUESTION

The Press-Enterprise

Lake Elsinore Temescal Canyon graduate Maurice Clark has signed a scholarship to play football at Temple University.

Clark, an all-Riverside County selection who played wide receiver and defensive back for Temescal Canyon, said he signed Saturday.

"I liked the coach (wide receivers coach Dennis Goldman), who just came over from Syracuse. He showed a lot of interest in me," said Clark, who said he also looked at Iowa and New Mexico State. "Temple has a real good reputation for academics.

"He sees me having the opportunity to play right away, if not start."

The playing time would come at wide receiver.

"My high school coach wanted me to play DB," Clark said, "but I said my days there are over. I'm a wide receiver."
VictoryEngineer: Thanks for taking on assignment as Temple rep on the MAC board. I note your story on games with Army, Navy and PSU have not yet appeared on our Temple board. Hope we can develop much more interest in posting on this site. 04-bow
