Ohio is projected an 11th seed playing a 6th seeded Washington in a mock bracket on espn.com

Akron is one of the last teams out. What a shock MAC 1 bid projected.

11th seed would be a decent seed for MAC based on past history. Bobcats were a 13th seed last season. 41-44 ranking. Nice to get some pre-season props. MAC should be much stronger OOC this coming season. Akron and Ohio are well stocked. Miami and Kent should be good as always. Toledo, Ball State have fire power back too. Buffalo, WMU , NIU and BGSU are sleepers.

I am confused about your comments. You say we may be sleepers. Did you mean the Huskie fan(s) will be sleepers at the Huskies games. :snore:
It really is unfortunate that we are just a one bid conference. Lately the MAC has had teams win, or take a good team right down to the wire in the tournament. We should have at least two teams..
I couldn't agree more KSU. (I am STILL angry about last years tourney. Iowa bias.)
I think it's utterly insane that people are even thinking about hoops brackets in freaking JULY.

But maybe that's just me.

This is why I want out of the MAC. There are too many above average basketball teams chasing the same strip of bacon.

I'd rather play in a 8-9 member league, so one really good school could pull 1-2 teams into the tourney with them like the WCC or MVC.

If it means anything to you, we all want YOU, not OU out of the MAC 04-nuke
just look at the revamped MAC east for b-ball this upcoming year...arguably the 6 best teams in the conference all in the same division.

I'll second that.

Whenever you have seven freshman and one juco transfer coming in to play next season, I would have to say that BG will be considered a definite "sleeper". BG is trying to ride a similar youth movement like OU last season. The class looks like a very good one and I hope this class works out for BG. It's been way, way to long when it comes to BG and the NCAA tourney. http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...ORTS03/50630010

I agree. Every game between east opponents should be good. On the other subject, I don't agree that if we had less teams, that more would get in. The one advantage going forward that we have, is that Kent's AD is now on the basketball committee.
The rpi of the MAC east last year was very impressive. Losing Mashall and gaining BGSU will boost the rpi of the division a bit. BGSU will win more than Mashall did last year reguardless of the number of freshmen and transfers. BG will still be tough at home. Parity again will be the biggest problem for the MAC. Ohio and Akron are very strong; however, you have to figure than at best OU and Akron spit vs Miami, Kent State, BGSU, and Buffalo. The odds are that you split against your division rivals in the MAC and hope to win majority of cross over games. OU should get Toledo and EMU, WMU on the road and Ball State, CMU, and NIU at home. The hopes for an atlarge bid really look tough when you assume OOC losses vs Kentucky and Cincinnati. How many road MAC losses can the Bobcats afford to have. Akron and the rest of the MAC face the same problem as Ohio. We have a great league that has few easy games on the road. You just hope to get a decent seed for Cleveland and roll the dice. With all 12 teams at the Gund next March, the MAC tourney will have even more drama than last year. We have the most exciting tourneyment in the nation. 8 or 9 teams every year really have a chance in March to go dancing. I just hope we can win a lot of OOC games as a conference and make the selection comitee has no reasons not to take multiple teams next March.
OU, is the tourney having all 12 teams in Cleveland next year? I have not heard that, but seems like an interesting idea. Especially from an attendance point of view.
