A few years ago, a guy was hired at my place. He was a huge Florida Gators fan. We talked, and my NIU fanaticsm hit home. He said one day "I admire you, you follow a team that has no chance for a national championship." I didn't say much, knowing it was true. Flash ahead to 2003. Florida has already lost a game or two. NIU has beaten Maryland, Iowa State and Alabama. Rated #10 in the BCS. I walk into his office and say "I admire you, you follow a team that has no chance for a national championship." His jaw dropped and he said nothing. Of course BG and Toledo took care of that "dream"--but it was fun to nail a big time BCSer while I could.
