Does anyone know anybody in the NIU administration that could get this board listed in the Game Day Program or somewhere in the Northern Star so we can get more NIU fans on this board.
It would be great to have hundereds of people on this board!

I'm not too familiar with the process, but maybe we could get a new name such as "HuskieBoard.com" that would re-direct to this site?

I'm not so sure how the process works to have anything approved for print distribution but PR is probably involved.
I also don't recall whether or not you find other universtities actively promoting a fan message board free thru a Upublication given the lack of control & potential liability issues and any association with the university.
Aren't there usually disclaimers found in the finest of print at the bottom of many message boards about not associated with any university or other organizations?

That's just for starters - all *******, moans or complaints from this board. Now, while I cannot argue with many if not all of these points, I cannot believe for one second that the university would actually consider promoting a link to it.
But, come to think of it - maybe they would!
i wouldn't think the university would promote this site at all. Quick someone put together the money to put an ad in the Northern star. After the kids get a look at this site they would all love to stay on and post.

There are tons of universities that have sponsored message boards - that are not censored except for content as we have here.
NIU doesn't have the money that some of these places do. So this is an option.

Tell GTS you want to purchase a domain name to have the NIU board point to. You can work out a name with him and then go to a place like godaddy.com and register a domain name for $8.95 a year. GTS can give you the DNS information needed to enter for the domain name. GTS would then set it up to forward to this message board in their NS record.
Of course there already is a subdomain name of <a href='http://niu.ncaabbs.com' target='_blank'>http://niu.ncaabbs.com</a>
